We were stuck with with minimal broadcasts (one?) of these games and CBS would switch the games at the worst possible moments and then show commercials while a great game was going down to the wire? Thank god.those days are over as I was always about to smash my tv.
This coverage is awesome.
please don't remind me. This way is MUCH better

Totally agree. I feel like writing a thank you letter to moonves or something.

Yeah. That was really only four years ago, right?
So true. I remember burning out several computers at MSU watching two or three games at once and having one on TV back in the heyday of March Madness On Demand. I don't care what "trutv" is any other week of the year, but it more than pays for itself right now.
Sparty > Walverines
This X 2 zilly - CBS sucked bad when they had to switch - this is awesome.
I hated that shit! It's nice to be able to have multiple games on multiple computers via firstrow while having CBS on the TV.
I don't get TruTV but this is still way better.
Remember studying coverage maps to see what game you'd get to watch? Man, that sucked.
I want to know what the hell took so long to figure this out.
They fucked up the online coverage pretty bad.
Last year I paid a small fee to get the games online that were not on my CBS station. This year you need a cable subscription to watch games online unless they are being broadcast on CBS somewhere.
I was thinking about that earlier today. People forget how bad it used to be.
Are these channels all owned by the same company? Or is it just an agreement?
CBS + 3 Turner Broadcasting Stations TBS, TNT, Tru
It is also very nice to have properly staggered start times to games, so at the very least, I can watch a nice portion of every game.
I really, really, REALLY despised having 4 games start within a few minutes of each other which inevitably led to more game switching and watching more commercials than awesome finishes.
Now all we need to do is get the dumbass bowl season to not have 4 Big Ten teams playing at the same time on New Years Day. You would think they wouldn't want to split their ratings...

Just mentioning it makes me freak out it will happen again some day. Pretty awesome not missing a game, games online too.
Yeah, it sucks. They give you 4 free hours, but that ran out pretty quick. FirstRowSports.EU it is.
Who sees all beings in his own self, and his own self in all beings, loses all fear."
I fucking love it. One game on the laptop and channel surfing for the other three.
A man's gotta eat!
I now have the four HD stations carrying the tournament as "favorites". Most enjoyable evening of basketball that I can remember.
For everybody worrying about using the online live streaming and running out due to not having the proper cable subscription, use incognito mode on Google Chrome. I've watched almost every game so far without having cable at home. Way more than 4 hours and still going strong.
Google Chrome Incognito mode does the trick.
I'll say this about the old arrangement - there was a certain charm of Gumbel slinging you across the country trying to set up what's happening as a director is screaming in his ear; you also didn't have to control a remote and just let everything come to you.
Today is better, but there's a certain nostalgia I have for 'how it used to be'.
"We will now take you to ashville and check in on Duke who is up by 65 against Baker College, we will keep you posted on this 5 pt MSU game."
Now if they could just get rid of the 1020pm tips it would be perfect. Screw the evening news it's March Madness
Sports TV has improved so much over the best decade +. Anyone watch the '00 NT game? It's not HD, and it's brutal.
When was the last time you missed an MSU football game? I remember being in school and going to tailgate and going back to the house only to find the game not on any channel.

I remember in the media guide, MSU was saying that X straight game have been televised. I worked backwards, and it's the 04 or 03 year.
Much better. And I can remember them shifting from a MSU game to some other game right at the wrong time because MSU was not getting any respect. (Izzo's early years)
Thank goodness Coach has brought us to where we are today. We're spoiled. Hope we all remember that.
