We're never getting to the god damn Rose Bowl
Location: Mumbai, India
Then Bama should be dropped because of the MSU-ND rivalry
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
There's no way those are the divisions.
Nope, this is worse. Sure you might get screwed like that once a decade, but its better than running the gantlet EVERY year. What it boils down to is that in any given year, you HAVE to win at least 2 out of 3 from UM, OSU, and PSU plus not screwing up against a lower tier team just to go to the conference championship. Even then, we could do all that and if say OSU is the only team that beats us and they go 12-0, then we stay home and hope to back door into a BCS game.
In 2016-2017 we'll play five of the eight winningest D1 programs of all time. We could get to 7 if we play Nebraska and then Texas/Oklahoma in the bowl game.

and..... fucked once again
So that leaves room for ND to the West so they will play for a B1G companionship a lot.
Unfortunately, we get to play PSU every year now. God, I don't want to look at that ugly-ass trophy every year.
hard to see the good in this.
Or you can to to 5 BCS bowl games and win a national championship.
I'm down with it also.
So many pussies here! Just go win. I'd definitely WANT to be in the sweet, hype division with marquee games and a great reputation nationally.

Sell recruits on the schedule and the exposure.
For me the only upside is if you get to the championship game, you likely won't have to face the best of the best for all the marbles. Tell me, with everything on the line, would you rather play Ohio State or Wisconsin?
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
I said make you into an elite program. If you already an elite program you are probably going to get "the benefit of the doubt" when you dominate the division, if you aren't people will claim its a weak year or the division is weak.
LOL yay I will never see a Rose Bowl in my lifetime....thanks Hollis
To die in ann arbor is redundant
In order to be the man you've got to beat the man ...
Bring it. Before 2011 we usually had to play all of those teams yearly anyway. This is our opportunity to shine.
Molon Labe, motherfuckers.
I like the new divisions. They are simple and provide a great amount of exposure. We will face the top competition and give our recruits better marquee matchups. We've been on top for 2 of the last three seasons.
Weak premise at best. It isn't like you wouldn't play the teams in the other division. If it does end up being a 9 game conference schedule then each team will play 3 teams from the other division each year. We would still play the big boys. Plus, if you hold their own enough in the conference championship game you will get respect.
Lastly, that division would still be WAY better than the Big 12 North. That division had Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Colorado. A division of MSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Illinois is no slouch.
....and if MSU does not win, everybody will blame it on the divisions. And if they do not win, attendance and recruiting suffer. At the same time, everybody in that division is saying the same thing right now. But the early advantages do go to UM and OSU.
Looking at the big picture and beyond MSU this is a dumb setup. If UM V. OSU is the conference's marquee game putting them in separate divisions helps milk that by always keeping the door open for a rematch in the B1GCG or at least getting one of two in the BIGCG in most years. While the latter might happen, this setup increases the odds of both being eliminated quite often. This setup could create a bunch of boring BIGCG matchups as well with a steady rotation of Nebraska or Wisconsin.

Whatever's best for fucking wusconsin. Putting MSU in the west with IU and Purdue in the east made a LOT more sense. Certainly a lot better for us. Now we need to root for the BT to expand again so we get a mini-pod. With our luck, it'll be us, um, o$u and pedSU. Hollis is great, but he and LAKS failed us on this one.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
So, you are affaid of Pedo U, SCum and nd?
I'll give you O$U and Bama.
Maybe Hollis will bow out of the Bama home and home, like TAMU did with MSU.
There's a time and a place for everything and it's called college.
A man's gotta eat!
Well, we better get to that Rose Bowl this year, 'cause we are basically going to be the Arkansas of the B1G East. Urban really brought more than just SEC style recruiting to this conference.
