Keep in mind that these divisions may only be around for a few years if/when two new teams are added. If those are east coast teams (likely), you will probably see MSU move West.
I don't see this arrangement lasting more than a few years after further conference consolidation inevitably happens.
People need to grow a pair. I would much rather be in the SEC west than east. If these are the divisions - then it will be awesome. If we compete and win we will be playoff bound. If we come in second we will be the second best conference team and better that championship game runner up.
Jesus, what a punch of pussies in this thread. The SEC East used to be the power division and now it's dog shit. The balance of power has shifted to the West. I'm more upset about losing games with Wisconsin and Nebraska than having to play scUM, tOSU, and PSU every year. I can't believe nobody has recognized that the B1G kept us with our most hated rival: FORKS DOWN!
PSU is getting recruits like Hackenburg under probation. They will be back.
Being rational, and looking at our history compared to those three programs, I don't think we can win consistently. The key words in your post are "if".
At least the division names aren't embarrassing anymore.
I think a lot of you guys are being too pessimistic about this. PSU is about to really go down hill with the sanctions. Rutgers, Maryland and IU are not big threats, and MD has done very well against UM. OSU had to be in a division with someone. Basically it will be a 3 way battle between UM, MSU and OSU for the East for the next few years. Plus, this will boost recruiting potential for the East teams significantly. MSU will be just fine. Protected crossovers just made for permanently unbalanced schedules within divisions.
GREAT! Think we can poach some of Slick Nick's staff to recruit for us? I got $4.00 in my pocket that ain't doin' nothin'...anybody else willing to pony up for some stud recruiters? Anybody...anyone?
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
Coaches come and go, the 25,000 extra seats and big fat wallets of Osu, Um and Psu are constant.
I still don't know how the schedule is going to help us recruit when winning didn't give us a bump.
it is kinda weird, we are spending all this money on new facilities but we won't spend money to bring in the stud recruiters.
Exactly. Us and our rival will move to the west as we add 2 more East Coast schools. That will reunite IU with PU and balance the divisions out. Think one move ahead folks. I guarantee you Hollis is.
It's a town full of losers. I'm pulling out of here to win!
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!
when big10 add 2 more eastern schools, they will join the East division and IU will go to the West division
we are gonna be stuck with OSU/PSU/UM for a long long time
UNC?? (new school 1)
GA Tech (new school 2)

The more I think about this the more I like it. OSU is the only program in our division that scares me because of their consistency. scUM has become a cyclical program, you don't know what you're going to get from them each year. PSU? It's going to take them a while to recover, and it's not like they were dominating BEFORE the scandal. I mean, really, do 8-4 programs really have you guys shitting your pants? As for the rest...IU, Maryland and Rutgers are all schools we should beat (most years, anyway).
Trips out east to NJ and and Maryland will be good exposure for our program in those regions.
Playing the best each week also means more prime time games and 3:30 ABC slots.
It's kind of funny though how people are fretting about playing a bunch of teams we've been playing for years.

Facilities are a big part of recruiting.
I don't want to say we're pretty fucked and that Delaney is up to it...but we're pretty much fucked and I blame Delaney.
Well, the Terps will beat Indiana every year. I'll give them that.
My thoughts exactly...Maryland and Rutgers should be pissed, not us.
Me too...just because.
I fear that our ceiling will be 9-3 under this format
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Admit it, you fear leaving your front door every morning.
Possibly. Especially when we have ND, OSU, scUM, and PSU every year.
Well we've also played Wisc, Iowa, NW, Minn and Iowa for years too.
No one would be complaining if this was the only option.
But there were multiple options and the choice made put us on the much more difficult road, while others seemed to get by comparison a stroll in the park.

OSU and UM are basically THE B1G.. not like they are all of a sudden going to suck..
At no point do I think Nebraska, Wisky and Iowa will be consistently better than UM and OSU
