On Thursday afternoon Jabari Parker, one of the top basketball players in the country, announced on national television that he will attend Duke next fall.
"You make sure when you come, you got a little blood in your eye, a little blood in your eye, a little fire in your belly. We there yet?"
Well, we won in something
In October, Parker set up official campus visits to the five schools. Before making the first trip to Michigan State, Parker and his brother Christian made two lists. One had the five schools. The other had Jabari's top five priorities in selecting a school: Coach, Academics, Environment (social), Basketball (team chemistry and style of play) and Spirituality.
Then Jabari selected the schools that best fit his priorities:
Basketball: Michigan State

I don't get how you can separate "Coach" from "Basketball"
Hide yo quarterbackz, hide yo kidz, the MSU defense is here
Maybe he's that "once-in-a-lifetime" special player who actually cares about his life after basketball and will stay more than one year?
Coach K did this same type of pitch for Rivers. Paint an image of his role in the offense and how he'll be a centerpiece. Got Coach K an inconsistent, headfucked team and a first round exit in Rivers' only year with the team.
Who cares the kid is going to Dook. Time to move on.
Is it just me that thinks Krzyzewski has a terribly bland, uninspiring personality? I don't see the charisma that so many others apparently see.
Nobody cares anymore...
Beat the snot out of Duke!
Nίκη για MSU
Since academics is one of his criteria, I guess he's a four year player for duke?!? Nice to fill a slot for four years, good for duke.
So, we're to believe that a high-energy pitch by coach k about Parker's role in dook's offense is what sold him during the last in-home? Like that topic had never come up before?
I think we're being sold a bunch of bullshit. And I bet you Izzo knows it.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
Excuses. K is no better as a coach than Izzo. In fact, one might say that, given even close to equal talent, Izzo is a far better coach. As far as academics go, while Duke and Stanford may have better reputations, there are enough examples of highly-successful graduates from any school on Parker's list to show that criterion is bogus. Environment of play is highly subjective, since it depends on the quality of experience during the one official visit to each campus. I still can't figure out how anyone could separate these factors out-- they all intertwine.
He wanted the easiest path to winning. Everything else is bullshit.
Exactly, it is bullshit. Just like Dawson being a factor on why he didn't pick MSU.
Something stinks about how this went down. Just an odd ending especially what was said after the commitment.
I can deal with Parker picking Duke. What I can't stand is the beyond obvious line of crap he is trying to feed us that he calls "reasons" as to why he didn't choose MSU. It's complete BS and IMHO he showed his true character today.
I suspect this decision was really made awhile ago and his parents had a much bigger say than everyone was led to believe.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
Well if he plays like he did a week ago who gives a fluck? His hype was pre-injury its now post injury...
In all seriousness good luck to him unless he faces MSU.

"love unconditionally". Princess Lacey
Agreed. Be a man and tell the truth. The BS he is feeding us is so transparent.
I don't care he picked Duke, just don't lie.
I thought Parker was one of hign morals and beliefs, the morals part I question. He is just another high profile recruit.
What I don't like about his "reasons" is dragging Dawson into this with his BS excuse for not picking MSU. Branden didn't ask to be part of this circus.
The article basically says that he made the decision in early December and it was just between him and his brother. Him and his brother even said a prayer after Coach K left..

I am actually happy he is making these comments about Branden Dawson and how Duke was his worst offical visit (if you were to read that article you would think otherwise). This will get Izzo and Branden Dawson fired up. I mean coach even left Jabari Parker with the "no matter who you pick, we will always be together". I mean..c'mon. You have a hall of fame coach who has been to 6 final fours and a national title and has a powerhouse literally in your backyard say that to you...also started recruiting you 1 year before Duke. Izzo always makes recruits eat their words..it started with Anthony Roberson...
Bender, I hate to tell you this, but we very, very rarely beat Duke in basketball...unfortunately. And Coach K. broke the win record against us in Madison Square Garden last year.
You people are embarrassingly bitter.
Would you people give it up. Lets face the facts. Duke is a better school. Coach k is a damn legend.
We are lucky to have izzo who will be a legend as well but god the kid us going to one hell of a school and one hell of a program. If all izzo loses to when recruiting a kid like this is duke he is doing a lot right.
This country was built by people who worked hard then went home and had just a few too many every night. Then went back to work.
