I do like Costco more though and there were rumors of on going up in the area, but I thought I heard it fell through.

Question...why do Sams' Club and Costco have memberships? Is there some law that says they have to charge memberships to buy in bulk? Couldn't they make more just letting everyone but their stuff instead of making people pay to shop at their store?

I think it makes it feel more exclusive to some people, which lures them in. And also, they are making money off of it, so why not? People keep buying memberships so they're gonna keep charging for them
