Seven losses this year. Four of those seven against teams that very well could be in the Final Four -- and those losses were by a combined 18 points and only one at home.
Entering this season, we were told this is a young team and be patient. A free throw here, a bounce into the basket instead of out and the board would be filled with talk of how we should be a #1 seed. I still see potential and good in this team!
Yes, three straight losses suck and winning the next two games is extremely important, but I'm sticking with this team and not giving up!!

Nίκη για MSU
Every top team in the BIG went through the nasty stretch against the best in the BIG and only Indiana came through unscathed. I think MSU did pretty well, despite playing poorly in many of those games, we were always in a position to win near the end of them. That being said, the poor play has a lot to do with the tough opponents not giving an inch and maybe getting in the heads of some of the players a little bit. Need to be tougher mentally. I think this type of gauntlet is just what was needed to get mentally tough in preparation for the tournament. There aren't very many teams that can boast a BIG schedule and when push comes to shove, I believe the team will draw on these experiences to make a deep run - assuming that the players perform that is... I believe they will.
Give them NOTHING but take from them EVERYTHING.
Phauk eennn ahhh
MSU, as usual, is still exceeding preseason expectations.
Tough three game stretch.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
Thank you sir, may I have another
We showed toughness in the 2nd half, coming back down 10 with 4 minutes to go. I wouldn't have been surprised to see a team give up in that situation
Absolutely. I think the mental toughness to dig deep is there. Where I see the lack of mental toughness is in the area of turnovers. I don't know if mental toughness is the right way to describe the decision making that leads to the turnovers, but I think they get a little flustered when pressured heavily and they get nervous or something and make poor decisions. In other cases, they seem to just have a brain fart and throw the ball away. Like I said, I don't know if mental toughness is the best description for those mistakes, but it was the best one I could come up with. I firmly believe that they can overcome that by keeping focused and not letting their guard down.
Yes. We are tied for second in the best conference in the country and we have played the toughest schedule in the conference so far, because UM still has to play Indiana, OSU has to play at Indiana and Wisky has to play at us. People find a reason to panic and don't bother to look at the big picture.
