I can't help but root for Sherman. He has scored 10 all in OT. Hoping he hits the lack bucket to finish the game.
You don't have a soul if you don't want this to happen
Nice dumb foul to put Louisville up by 4
His +/- is in the stratosphere.
Sherman-ator with another deuce
Happy for Sherman.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
Sherman 14 & 5
Getting a ton of props from Dickie V
Awesome night for a Great Spartan
big sherm is notre dames enture offense through overtime
I wish Sherman well but he is not a great Spartan, He plays for ND.
This has to be the 1st time ever someone has 17 and not scored until the 2nd OT
Good for Sherman. The ND coach also seemed like a good guy. Too bad all this good is HEAVILY outweighed by their asshole FB coach and his band of molesters. Fuck 'em.
Nice floorplay from Sherman, +zilly opti bux
Why do you guys insist on refering for anyone who ever put on a jersey as a "great Spartan"?

Apparently he and Nix were good buds.
About two and a half months ago, the MSU men’s basketball team had a team evaluation meeting. Players were told areas they needed to work on. Sophomore center Derrick Nix decided to write down the needed improvements and hang them above his locker so he remembered.
Thank you, Denicos.
Sherminator being interviewed on 97.1 now.
There's a time and a place for everything and it's called college.
I always heard Sherman was first off the bench to cheer for his team-mates, a hard worker and guy who represented Spartan Nation well.
I don't remember any drama and believe he parted with State on good terms.
Maybe calling him a great Spartan was a bit of a reach.
I was rooting for the big awkward dude tonight. It was a great story line in a marquis game.
It's all about the Sherminator now.
From the blog The Dagger: College Basketball Blog: Had Notre Dame not managed to force overtime against Louisville with an unfathomable last-minute comeback, Garrick Sherman's line in Saturday night's box score would have merely read DNP-Coach's Decision. Instead the seldom-used big man became the most unlikely hero of … Continue reading →
yup, the ESPN Sports Center coverage is all over him. During the interview, it was apparent that he has grown into a great man, gone is the shy young man. Wish he had the coach's confidence to earn more PT, but with this performance, that should come. Happy for him that he was able to show his bball chops tonight.
Perhaps he left because he wanted #11. j/k
We are the SPARTANS and They are NOT!!! [spartan 2]
He scored more in OT than he had in his previous 10 games (combined). 11 games if you count regulation against Louisville.
I'm still not exactly sure why he transferred. If it's a playing time issue, put in the work and develop your game so there is no doubt. I heard the announcers yesterday refer to Nix as a dancing bear and I thought about him and Draymond. Here are two guys, Green in particular, who did what they needed to do to become a force. They changed their games, changed their bodies and did it all while AT MSU.
He couldn't have worked on his hands AT MSU and done this here?

Sherman was a crafty player when he was at MSU. He transferred because he knew it would be tough to get minutes over Nix and Payne. It worked out for everyone. Him leaving made room for Harris.
I was amazed by how much his body has changed. He was a twig at MSU. He's turned into one big galumphing dude.
He has decent offensive skills, but can't rebound or defend. That doesn't work well for

Did he transfer after Dawson committed? If so, I see it. Dawson is more of a small 4 than a big 3. How does a 4/5 transferring make room for a SG? Only if it was a scholly # issue I guess. Seems like with our other transfers, that wouldn't have been a problem.
Sherman had great post moves and could consistently finish around the basket (something our bigs struggle with at times) but he just never developed that toughness you see out of a typical Izzo player. He always just seemed out of place to me when he was out there. If he would've defended and rebounded the way Drew Naymick did, along with his offensive game, he coulda been a good one.
