If Florida dispatches scUM, then I will be able to move on--no harm, no foul. A ScUM Final Four appearance will be tough to take, but if they lose in the FF, I'll get over it. A NC, however, will be rather unbearable. If this horrific possibility occurs, I may need to grow an Al Gore beard and live for several months in a remote wilderness cabin, cut off the grid and the rest of society (at least until football season starts).

I presented that argument based on the parameters of a scUm fan saying they have caught our basketball program.
Thought that was obvious....
And what stars are you talking about? Fabio, the linebacker who just blew his knee out and the running back named after a French pastry? Oh wait, you're talking about red shirt freshman who have never played a down....
Lewan, Gallon, Gardner etc. they also have quite a bit of extremely talented new blood that will hit the scene. It's tough to say the same for anyone we have in the pipeline.
It sucks that our stud recruit Le'Veon Bell is headed to the league. He was a 5* coming out of HS, right?
I'm not over it. Our basketball team got bounced way too early, no recruiting class coming in. I don't feel good about football next year, still don't have a D or O line that impresses me and has a lot to prove. Plus we are still breaking in a new crop or WRs, a QB that was average, and a new RB, all of this with new co-offensive coordinators. I don't feel good about beating uofm this year either.
"Come and take them"
That's quite a stretch. They've been out recruiting us pretty substantially for three years now, and this will be the first year that difference will start to be glaring.
Pretty sure this dude's a troll. But sadly, he's on to something. The honeymoon is over. We're still solid, but we so desperately needed to keep the momentum going last year and we failed miserably.
We can talk all we want about diamonds in the rough, but UM is pulling in insane recruiting classes. Anyone who thinks that's not going to start showing up on the field is delusional.
The worst part about this whole thing is that UM's resurgence is entirely our doing. In 2011, our collection of primadonnas couldn't close the door on a dogshit, 1-6 scUM team in the Breslin. That one win for them turned their entire season around, which turned their entire program around.
And we haven't done a damn thing between then and now to stem the perception that we're on the decline and they're on the upswing. Big Ten accomplishments are meaningless without a strong corresponding run in the dance.
Next year is critical for maintaining program momentum. This loss hurts, a lot.
Are they're recruiting classes substantially better than what they were getting in '09, '10 or '11? I'd argue that they're not. What did those great classes give them?
Rich Rod didn't recruit well at all. You should take a look at those classes. Half of the kids in those classes didn't last much longer than a year or two before they left the team or were kicked off.
Add a zero onto that 3.......
In '09, '10 and '11 Michigan had the 8th, 10th and 20th classes in the country. I don't give a shit what they did when they got to school. My point is Michigan has ALWAYS gotten highly rated recruits (just like they have coming in next year). We still beat them 4 years in a row (with 'worse' recruits) and lost on a last second field goal last year.
Why wouldn't it matter what they did once getting to school? Especially if those players were recruited to play in a different system than the one they have now. Hoke now has three classes, two of which were top 5 overall. None of those players have really hit the field yet, and are just getting off redshirt years.
Humble pie doesn't taste very good, but it makes winning that much sweeter.
Because we're talking about recruiting classes. Michigan has a very highly rated recruiting class this year... exactly like they had in '09, '10, '11. Those players bombed out, but for some reason THIS recruiting class is going to be different? Why?
My scUM older brother is so pumped for the game and was texting me the day they beat Kansas. That's totally fine. I'd be going apeshit too if my school had this ridiculous run that they never go on.
But what pisses me off is the damn bandwagon shit. When MSU football sucks and what do we do? Constantly remain as a top 25 team in terms of attendance.
UM Basketball tanks for TWO DECADES, and you can get a ticket to a game that would be cheaper than sitting at home with a hot n ready. I remember when he took me to a game in 08 against Wisconsin and that place was a GHOST TOWN.
If UM does win it all, because with the competition, it's so damn possible, I hope it extremely pisses Izzo off.

Holy smokes fellas, relax. Seasons over. Next one will come soon enough. I've only been lurking on tRCMB for a few months now so I am curious as to wether the sky is falling posts were this abundant after we got bounced last year or is just because scUM is still dancing?
This is in no disrespect to Izzo or the program and what we've accomplished, we the last decade, have remained the most constant team this last decade...
But my question, is when we stop hoping to add to our Final Four tally, and start demanding Championships. (Demand excellence hurr hurr) it's been 13 years. It's just inexcusable with the talent we get (minus the Lucas injury year-- that was just poor luck)
Final Fours are fun and great, but are really just coming in 2nd.
I'll probably be down voted but I had to let this out.
Edit: I know how difficult it all is, I know that Tom stands on his head at times, but it's just too damn long.

Um. Yes. And it's not even close.
Or it could be Trey Burke too, but hey, if you want to pinpoint it on one loss go ahead.
Michigan has one good tournament run in 20 years and now they have passed us. I guess they have also passed IU, Ohio State, Kentucky and a host of other teams.
After Burke and Hardaway JR leave we'll see how well UM does

Both. You'll need more in- and post-season meltdowns to recognize the pattern.
