Looks like my hands are tied... "tanfan is a quallllllllllllllllllllllllllliiiiiiiiiity poster"
So if the brackets are being put "under the middle of the Nothwest Scoreboard"..I'd guess that means it's not stopping anytime soon. The video of the sound system check shows some real quick blips of stuff (all I can see is black "lines") going on in the concrete on the outer perimeter but it is hard to find evidence of holes done outside the boards down there..
There is romance in all of us
The fascia, or "ribbon" will stretch the entire length of the north wall. There is a reason the entire top row of benches have been removed for the install.
Note additional ribbon support under scoreboard. Around 12:30 today.

Update as of 3:30 pm on 8/2/12 (since this board doesn't use time stamps).
Not too much progress on the South board today.
LED ribbon supports on the NW corner have been extended out considerably.
Note that I didn't see any additional metal framing laying about on the NW side - not sure if that is the finished dimension on this side or not.

Three more pics from 3:30 today.
1) LED panels and other materials staged in the North ramp area. There is a stack of some type of panels on the far wall that looks like it has Spartan helmets on it. I won't speculate any further....
2) More LED panels in the staging area.
3) More metal ready for hoisting on the NE side. As of this afternoon the framing had not been extended on that side yet.
The crew on the NW side was moving some dirt around - appeared to be preparing to set up for pouring concrete sidewalks, etc.
Nice work, Zapp!
I see the hashes are now on the Spartan Head, more Green up on the Left side, and the top cap is about done.. As I commented a couple days ago, when the green us all up on the left side and the board looks "whole", the Spartan and the Stadium words look nicely centered and spaced.
After seeing the pic of the south board straight on and seeing the gap between "Spartan" and "Stadium" I would put $$$ on it that something it going there. It seems WAY TOO BIG to have have the words closer together, I would imagine Hollis as something up his sleeve or else this board is just going to

BTW - I probably won't be on campus tomorrow so perhaps someone else can step up for the Friday afternoon status update.
Please tell me you're kidding..
Otherwise, here we go again.. and you're wrong. It looks great and will look great. Remember the old Spartan Stadium where they were even more separated? Nobody bitched about that. But perhaps that was because it was in the days before message boards
Sorry, I'm not that old... are you referring to an older separation on the north or south side?
Nice try. You get your ass to campus and take some more pics. We demand excellence.
100 pages by the end of Friday? I think it can be done.
On the North Side..MSU Brass posted some pics on page 80 of the old lettering when we had the great concrete cleaning debate. I seem to remember the actual words being spaced apart too, but I guess all you can see in these pics is the letters themselves. To each their own, but I don't see any problem.
I just don't see another logo getting put up there. I think it'd look goofy and crowded..and see nothing wrong with the spacing at all. In fact it's well centered, IMO.
Here's a pic of the old Tiger Stadium letters, if it makes you feel better
I'm taking a stab at what the south board will look like upon completion (except for the supports part) based on a couple of ideas from here and thanks to Zapp, I think for the original pic.
Oh Shiat..I just got wind of what's going up there. I'm sorry Guys, I was wrong..

Guinness makes you drop mud.
Was at the stadium around 4:30 or so (no pics was dropping something off for work) looked like the ribbon framing was all the way to northwest corner.
It was hard to drive and see, some Boy Scout convention was/is going on and they were wandering aimlessly.
Not too ashamed to say I had to Google Image Search that logo to understand WTH is going on. However, behold the search output for visually similar images...
Hmm..looking at that pic with the round sheild, I'll admit it looks kind of cool. But that isn't gonna be the seal that beats the Standard MSU one..
I'd think this would actually fin in nicely. See, I am flexible and it'd match up with the Spartan Head behind it facing into the stadium..
MSU90, can you give us a look??

Took these about 30 mins ago. You guys are silly the ribbon is extending all the way across! . They were working on the top of the NE board while I took the pics and on a different note it wasn't intentional but theirs some hotties in one of my pics walking down the parking lot.
Edit: actually only of them is hot

I like the mock-up with the shield also. I will say that the metal to support the frill for the Spartan helmet is already constructed and sitting in the staging area outside the South board. No pics available, but it definitely is not a full semi-circle (it's more like a 120 degree slice of pie, if you understand my meaning).
In other words - it's designed for the frill on the inside of the stadium and most likely not for anything mounted on the outside (unless I have completely missed seeing some additional pieces).
What?!?! You mean these jackasses were wrong to complain about an unfinished product?!?!?!
Good - I didn't see the additional framing pieces for the NW corner when I took pics an hour earlier but glad to see it is filling in all the way.
