Solid tidbit there. +1
After a month to get healthy + bowl practices, i'd like to see our young secondary ballhawks (Drummond and Williamson) face a passing attack like Texas Tech. I think our DL is good enough to deal with their run game. A pass rush would be useful though...
So we get to write off one of our losses if we win the bowl game?
MSU should fear no team from the Big 12.
Agree to some extent. TCU or Texas would be worst for us because they have good defenses.
This surprises me. 75% of the projections I've seen say TCU. I haven't seen anyone actually project TT, but I guess I wouldn't complain.

In OSU's four losses, the fewest points they have scored was 30 and State has only scored that many twice this season. I just think Okie State will find a way to score and I'm not sure that State can keep up.
Also, I'm not trying to get into a pissing match about defenses b/c I live here and I have a vested interest in State, but I think one reason the Big XII defenses are so statistically poor is because of the type of offenses they play against and not necessarily because they are bad defenses. Could MSU gash OSU with the run, yeah probably, but you still have to outscore them.
TCU in my mind is a toss up, just because you never know what TCU team will show up.
Tech v. State would just be ugly, I think.
At the same time you could say that the Big Ten's offenses are generally poor because the defenses are so good. Generally, the truth lies somewhere in between.
I'd rather have an elite D than an elite O any day.
Stanford proved that - I want to play a team that we have a decent shot at beating and prefer NOT to play a high scoring offense because I just don't see our D holding up the entire game. TCU is who I want.

I agree...Tech under Leach all but proved that point. But let's face it, outside of the SEC, there are very few elite defenses and even then you are looking at a caste system.
True. One of those very few elite defenses is in East Lansing. Nobody in the country would scare me against our defense. We all saw what comparable defenses like Stanford and ND did against Oklahoma and Oregon. Expect the same from MSU against the same type high powered offenses.
Exactly. ND has a better defensive line but our secondary is better. Linebacker corps is a push.
