See attached. How this does not help MSU is beyond me.
He is not driving to Raleigh, Durham and other S.E. locales to see his son play.
This is the first time I am seeing this in print for a fact.
Jabari Parker is one of the country's top basketball recruits, but the Simeon senior could have forgone college for a Mormon mission, but shut down that rumor Friday on ESPN radio.
I heard this a while ago that's why I don't think he'll go to Duke or any other school besides MSU.
The new Spartan Line should be renamed the Sonny Express!
I heard it as well, but somehow it was always denied.
My odds now go back to 60-40 for MSU vs 40-60 this morning
Raleigh, Durham is not a place.
It's still an 8 hour round trip to EL from Chicago. It certainly won't hurt, but let's not pretend we're DePaul.
Snyder, forget the bridge, get on that Chicago-Lansing bullet train project asap.
You must drive like a grandma if you think it is 8 hours round trip. 7 hours tops. Shorter from the Southside.
He gets a couple of away games without leaving the state. (NU,UI). It is the away ones also
I could have sworn I saw aan article where Sonny denied this. He played in tne NBA, and has made the trips with Jabari. Oh well, maybe there's something to it. Anyway, it isn't just the proximity to EL, but several other B1G schools are very driveable from Chicago. Obviously PSU and the new guys aren't, and Minneapolis wouldn't be a fun winter's drive from there. But several schools wouldn't be bad to drive to from there.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
He can ride the train
The Amtrak "Spartan Car" flys throught the Michigan State Spartan's campus in East Lansing, Michigan. Sorry, my camera had a hard time focusing in the dark.
Madison and West Lafayette are about as close as Champaign is also. Iowa City and Bloomington are both under 4 hours in a car as well.
True, but Raleigh/Durham is an area. Also known as the Research Triangle Park area, when you factor in Chapel Hill as the third point in the triangle.
My Blood Runs Green.....
I'm in Lakeview and have season tix.... I would be happy to take Sonny to the majority of the home games and can guarantee a sub 7 hour roundy. Just sayin.

I am so glad we are not DePaul.

You don't need money, don't take fame,
Don't need a credit card to ride this train,
It's strong, and it's sudden, and it's cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
Yup when I was living in Chi and driving back for football or basketball games, it was a 3-3.5 hour drive from the West Loop to the Hagadorn exit. And you don't treat it like a 7+ hour round trip, because there's several hours of East Lansing in the middle. It's two totally separate, totally manageable 3-4 hour drives.
You can give money to a dad...
You're right - I just did the 3 hours from GR and an hour from GR to EL; forgot that you could jet south on 94.
Point being, it's still a 7 hour round trip, no traffic. It certainly helps, but it's not a game breaker. The big thing, however, could be seeing him in WL, Evanston, Bloomington, C/U, Iowa City, Madison, and Indy/Chicago for the BTT. Too bad Duke is in the champions classic - negates the UC advantage we have.
Great news!! Now stop calling Jabari's high school and contacting his girlfriend.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
That would suck if we were.
"We'll play anyone, anyplace, anytime!" - Tom Izzo
6 of 7 espn insiders picked him going to Duke
One Night! One team! Kill blue! Bleed Green!
My odds are 65-35 MSU. I'm an insider, friend of the program. Trust my word.
