Looking into planning a trip to South Africa sometime next November/December and am trying to gather as much information as possible on some of the different areas/resorts to potentially stay in. I've looked at a few places online but seeing as how the ballers of the RCMB are all world travelers, I thought this would be the perfect place to ask for a few first hand accounts from people who have been there. One of my bucket list items is to see a great white shark so any suggestions for shark expeditions would be awesome. TIA.

stop by the hospital and say hey to nelson mandella.
Do they let white people mingle with black people in hospital in SA?
Ive been a few times. I would highly recommend Richard Branson's hotel in Kruger National Park called Ulusaba. Www.ulusaba.com. Its not cheap but its all inclusive and the food and booze top notch. IF you want a safari and to see lots of animals in the wild, this is a great place. Been there 3 times and each time saw numerous lions, leopards, cheetah, elephants, hippos, crocs, zebra, giraffe, wild beast, warthogs, cape buffalo, etc. I saw the "big five" on every trip, sometimes all in the same day. 3 to 4 days is enough, but more is better if you can afford it. I also did a Great White shark cage dive in False Bay near Cape Town, awesome experience .
oops. don't forget to take a whip.
I was in Johannesburg but that was 1996. Durban is supposed to be awesome. We did a canoe safari on the Zambezi in Zimbabwe which was amazing, camped at Victoria Falls, and did a lot of traveling around Zim. Very cool.,

I spent 5 months in Cape Town a few years ago. It's amazing and definitely worth going. Kruger is the one place away from Cape Town that I would suggest going to, otherwise I would recommend you spend the rest of your time in and around Cape Town.
You can dive with sharks in many places east of Cape Town. I did it in a place called Hansbaii, but there are many places. You could do some whale watching in Hermanus, check out wine country, and visit port towns like Hout Bay and Franschoek. I recommend renting a car, as there is a ton to see in and around Cape Town. It is maybe the most beautiful place I have ever seen.
Just to add, there are many interesting and significant historical and cultural points of interest around Cape Town as well. Robbin Island, District 6 Museum, Cape Point, Company Gardens....

Heard District 9 is pretty cool. Maybe you can have sex with a Prawn. Added clip in case you haven't seen the movie.

Hiv a good time.
South Africa the country, or just the region?
Curious myself, as I'm traveling to Zambia in October (Victoria Falls area). Sounds like gHost and a couple other people have tried the area.
