How the fuck is Wisconsin higher than us?
Why is Ohio State #3? Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas...that's it
I'm sure there will be the obligatory RCMB grumble about the rest of the B1G being too high compared to MSU, but I like where MSU is at. I think after losing one of the most prolific leaders/players of the Tom Izzo era, it's good to not put too much pressure on this team.
MSU plays another nasty schedule that will prepare the team for March. Hopefully guys can step up and try to fill some of the void Day Day left and this team ends up more like the 08-09 team than the 10-11 team.
I think we are better than 22 but a lot depends on how strong Dawson comes back. Shocked OSU is that high and just laugh at the idea of a Crean coached Indiana team being #1.
Wisconsin will be good and they have a big time conference schedule advantage over everyone.
Those rankings are funny. Here is Athlon Sports breaking down the Spartans who they have at number 10.
We lost Magic Johnson and then had try outs for walk-ons to complete our starters remember?
I love MeatChicken's out-of-conference schedule. They're going to be thoroughly unprepared for B1G play.
Saginaw Valley State
Cleveland State or Bowling Green
North Carolina State
How in the hell can UM and UW be ranked higher than MSU...I mean are you kidding me? 18 years into Izzo's tenure and we're still expecting Michigan basketball to overtake him?
Well that seems rediculous. Oh well, we all know bball preseason rankings don't mean a damn thing, and they change quickly.
If only we played those teams this year and could settle it on the court.
Yawn. This will be taken care of on the court. Nothing to see here.
There's a toilet in the kitchen!
There are, at best, 3 at large teams on that list. NCSU should be a shoo-in, Arky looks solid, and maybe WV?
Meh - Pre-season rankings means jack squat. I'd rather be ranked high for the post-season...
Just win, baby
Preseason rankings mean absolutely nothing, but #22???? Seriously? That's just a slap in the face given what we return and who our coach is.
I'm also not sold on IU as the top team in the country until they can prove they can consistently play at a high level outside of Bloomington.

The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
They will probably have Pitt and Kansas State in the Preseason NIT. Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley St. are exhibitions. Pitt, Kansas State, North Carolina State, Arkansas, and West Virginia doesn't look that bad, along with a bunch of nothing.
MSU sched has Uconn, Kansas, Texas, and Miami (FL) and a bunch of nothing.
I actually like Louisville at number 1, pre season.
Louisville should be #1, they are loaded this year
MSU loses Green so a rankings drop was expected, and as noted, probably beneficial.
How OSU is ranked that high after losing Sullinger confuses me
They must really be banking on scUM's last recruiting class to be epic to rank them that high
NC State will contend for the ACC Title
Amir Williams is a stiff - but according to them he is the second coming on Pat Ewing. What am I missing with all of these preseason polls?
I feel much better with low rank than a high. Team out performs low ranks and under performs high ranks, pretty consistently.
Who will be the leader this year? Appling?

I don't know maybe Payne? Appling doesn't seem to have the personality to be a leader. Maybe Dawson?
DeCourcy said in a blurb on the SN College BB page that MSU could very easily prove them wrong. Sounds as if he's still a bit bitten by ranking MSU as #1 in 05-06 and 10-11.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Wow, they play nobody. They should enter conference play with 1 or 2 losses. Eastern, Western, AND Central Michigan? Binghamton? NC State is the only good team they play.
EDIT: The two preseason NIT games could be tough, but neither Pitt nor KSU is really an elite basketball team. Arkansas is mediocre, and UM should beat WVU, who is decent but not great. Certainly UConn, Kansas and Texas are a much greater challenge.
I think MSU at 22 makes sense, but I really do not understand how UM is ranked so high by everyone. It seems like Robinson Jr. and McGary are expected to come in and be big time players starting day 1. UM lost a lot of their "glue" players and strong defensive guys. Unless Robinson Jr. averages 15/6/3 and McGary 12/9/2 or so, I don't see how UM is top 10, let alone top 5.

The UM ranking just keeps getting more hilarious with each poll.
