Pat Narduzzi @CoachDuzzMSU 50m
Good scrimmage today. Had som BiG hits. Still have to clean up little things to play in the ROSE Bowl. #SpartanDawgs #GoGreen
How many more offensive linemen did we lose? Do we have any left that are still on scholarship?
From the sound of it, Defense 103, Offense -2.
288 and 2
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
If Narduzzi thought it was a good scrimmage then we probably have a kill count of at least 7 guys on offense.
Riley said first carry of the game, Max gave him a huge kidney shot.
Might be the biggest hit an MSU RB takes all year .
They're all dead.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
Sorta baffles me our offense is so bad when they go up against a top 5 defense every day.
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
i heard him say that about one of his first carries in practice a day or two ago. Did he really take a second kidney shot from Max today?
Not sure, rexrode just tweeted it.
Any chance that hurts just as much as it helps? A great offense is dependent on rhythm and flow. If you're never getting into a rhythm in practice, would it be hard to make it happen during a game?
I honestly don't know the effect it has. Anybody have any insight?
Yeah, there are definitely multiple ways to look at it. Also wonder what kind of impact it has on their confidence if they can never get it going against the D.
Although we always hear that Maxwell puts up good numbers in these scrimmages, so who knows.
He actually tweeted it yesterday, so it must have been in practice.
Spartan Football @MSU_Football 2m
Riley Bullough paced the ground attack with 11 carries for 43 yards, including a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs.
Just under 4 YPC. that's decent.
So the rest of his day was 9 carries for 41 yards? Not bad.
Not bad for his first crack at it.
MSU_Football: Nick Hill capped a 10-play, 75-yard drive with a 7-yard TD run as the offense defeated the defense, 28-26, in the second spring scrimmage.
MSU_Football: Andrew Maxwell’s 24-yard strike to Tony Lippett set up Hill’s game-winning touchdown run that came with just over a minute to play.
MSU_Football: Riley Bullough, Nick Hill and Jeremy Langford combined to rush 29 times for 104 yards and three touchdowns.
MSU_Football: Riley Bullough paced the ground attack with 11 carries for 43 yards, including a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs.
MSU_Football: Hill rushed 12 times for 33 yards and a score while Langford contributed 28 yards on six carries.
MSU_Football: Maxwell completed 14-of-18 throws for 130 yards, including a 12-yard TD strike to AJ Troup.
MSU_Football: Bennie Fowler had a scrimmage-best four receptions for 67 yards.
MSU_Football: AJ Troup (31 yards), Tony Lippett (30) and DeAnthony Arnett (29) had three catches each.
MSU_Football: Kurtis Drummond, RJ Williamson and Jairus Jones recorded seven tackles each. Joel Heath made six stops, including a 4-yard sack.
Considering the opposing D (assuming vs. the 1's), yea. Also says that MSU needs a bigger back, because holes aren't there.
If you take the 1yd tds out it's 9 - 41. That's over 4.5.
7.2 YPA for Maxwell. Not elite, but solid. Really want to see it at 8. No INTs it appears.
We'll see what the full stats say.
Langford had over 4.6
No stats for Burbridge, again?
I don't mean bad for Riley Bullough, I mean bad for our running game. What does it say about these guys that they have been playing the position for years, and a LB comes over and is basically immediately better than them?
