Nonsense. There are definitely portions of Flint that rival the worst ghettos around the country. There is a reason Flint cracks those "10 most dangerous cities" list every single year. 827 violent crimes per 100,000 residents. What else would you expect from a city with a horrendous economy and 25% unemployment? Six violent crackheads sitting on a porch in Flint aren't much different than six violent crackheads sitting on a porch in Detroit.

"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
I grew up in Flint, moved away for 10 years, and recently got a job that puts me back in there every day (don't live there). Flint was a piece of shit 10 years ago and still is today. However to include downtown in that piece of shit is just plain ignorant. I don't know how or why but downtown has "comeback" to the point where if you were dropped off in the middle of Saginaw Street you would assume you were an above average mid-sized city. To fear monger by tell people it is dangerous, and to avoid at all costs based on no real experience of your own is moronic. The downtown restaurants and night life is about the one good thing Flint has going for it.
By my count there is at least 6 drive through party stores still open, still a rip off, and still sell to minors
Cracks? Flint is often at the top of these lists, if not #1.
Two Michigan cities once again led the nation in violent crime in 2011, with Flint topping the list and Detroit at No. 2, according to preliminary annual FBI statistics that look at cities of over 100,000 people released this week.
U mad bro?
Well, thank you for strengthening my point, then.
Bar Louie is a national chain........it doesn't deserve to be on this list.
It's also located in Flint Township.

Wouldn't the opposite of this be true? Last time I was home and went to Blackstone's for dinner it was promarily white. When I used to go to Churchhill's or Torch it was primarily white.......unless you're talking about being rascists towards whitey's, then yeah, it's rascists.
This pretty much says it perfectly.
True story, no on here claimed the rest of the city was very nice. But smart people realize downtown is rebounding nicely and continues to grow.

Ha ha - A1 - haven't thought about that place in ages. Used to do the same thing there. We also used to buy the occasional overpriced case of Blatz at The Short Stop on North Saginaw.
Looking back, I can't believe some of the stupid things we did as teens in Flint. Like driving North on Saginaw and stopping at every liquor store along the way until some place would sell to us - usually north of the river. We used to spend time at the Carriage Town Inn on MLK drinking at the bar when we were 16-17. Place would be full of bums and guys from the halfway house. Stupid kids.
The Double D by Whaley Park would sell to anyone with any reasonable attempt at an ID.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
I hear ya about the stupid things. I remember as a freshman in high school walking around the Atwood Park area on Halloween....oh, yeah, and one of my dipshit friends dressed up as a black man for that.
Where was Awads that someone mentioned? Or were there a few of them? By the name, I know I used to go there, but can't remember which place it was.
