Only morans (sic) read either of the Detroit papers.....followed closely by those who post links to their stories or quote from them.
Like it or not, we are going to have trouble with the likes of S Fla and Western. I'm not even willing to say Indiana is a guarantee after properly assessing our team(Indiana is actually recruiting and developing well nowadays).
People should prepare to lower expectations next year or face serious depression. I'm very sad to say this.
Definitely a troll.
its not just this thread, its what the tRCMB has become as a whole these days

The chicken littles in this thread are cute.
With as disappointing as the offense was last year, MSU still managed 7 wins. With a much more manageable schedule in 2013 I can't see anything less than 8 wins and 9 wins is certainly achievable. With the offense I consider the following:
1. The WR corps improved during the season and will be much more experienced coming into this Fall
2. With the return of Fonoti and a healthy O-line the running game should be OK. No one can replace Bell, but with the number of quality backs in the stable I am hopeful someone emerges as a viable threat
3. The quarterback competition will have an overall positive effect on the position, regardless of who emerges as the starter. Maxwell could make tremendous strides between now and the start of the season and could remain the starter. Personally, I think he will be the starter in 2013 AND I think he will be much improved
With the talent we have, we should win all of our games...but Roushar is our OC and leave it to him to screw up the offense lead by an Elite 11 four star qb.
get outta here scummer
laying in the weeds
You seem to be forgetting about the loss of our best offensive player and best defensive player. One of them accounted for over 100 yards per game, and the other was probable singlehandedly responsible for keeping the opponent from scoring 7 points per game.
It's Nucky. Serious.

What are the glaring weaknesses?
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
Our best defensive player didn't go anywhere. If you really think Gholston was the best player on defense you're even dumber than the average walverine troll.
Can't wait for Yakety sax to come back to the place that spawned his nick name.
Wait a second. Did Max Bullough go pro?
I'll bet Steve Adams copies and pastes that same thing before every single season.
Oh goodness. How dare I speak basic facts and legit concerns here in sunshine blower central. Anything less than speaking totally positive about everything, predicting undefeated championship seasons and being shiny, happy Spartans should get you banned around this dump. Sorry I forgot to toe the party line. Maybe you blowers can get one of the agenda driven blower rods to ban me for a few days for contrasting the blower party line. After all, I'm friends with Tanfan, that should get me banned by default. Right Martin Spartan? Right dmcc?

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
NSD is always my favorite day of the year, because it's the day that 99.999999999999999999% of clueless Walvies come out of their trailers and play the "RECRUUUUUUUUUUUITING National Championship Bro!" card. It's also the day that those same Walvies see that scum has (once again, for about the 100th year in a row) beaten MSU in the recruiting "rankings", therefore making scum a FAR superior team. It's the absolute worst day in college football because the large majority of casual football fans (of any team, but especially scum) become pedophiles and splooge themselves over a group of 17-19 year old boys. And then brag to their rival schools' fans about said boys. Who will have no impact at all on any games next year (for the vast majority).
It's my favorite day of the year, and my most hated day of the year all at the same time. All because of mindless douchebags like Steve Adams.

Plus, zillys. NSD in a season unto itself to that bunch. They really think it counts for something.
I want a tee-shirt that says, "We're MSU, and we're proud to beat your ass with your rejects."
I apologize for my lack of clarity in starting this thread. My point was not to praise the quality of the Detroit News as a source, and it certainly wasn't to promote the quality of thought of a particular reader of the Detroit News. Rather, it was to criticize the idea, held by a certain fan base in A2, that we'll suck at football next season.
The mean number of wins in Coach D's tenure at MSU is 8.5. That includes years when we had a first year starting quarterback and years when we didn't; years when we had a boatload of injuries, and years when we didn't. Last year we had both, and we had few viable options at the most important position on the field. As our recent bowl victory indicated, Coach D can work around issues of a banged up offensive line and a QB that had lost confidence.
With the upcoming schedule we have this year, I'm betting that we will at least return to the mean number of wins we've experienced in the Dantonio era. I could be wrong, but if Vegas has at seven wins max next season, I'm putting money on us.

The comments section of any media outlet ( be it major or minor) is where all common sense, intellect, and dignity go to die. Shame on the OP for creating this.
No kidding. Reality won't set in until the sunshine blowers here see the remaining pieces show up for Spring practice.
Pretty broad spectrum there.
Gholston was a nightmare, but anyone calling him MSU's best defensive player is outing himself as a troll. Dennard and Bullough are still here, yes?
Return game was mediocre. Coverage teams were average. Thus the spectrum.
Serious question. What exactly do you guys see with our team that makes you think we will be a contender in the B1G? I saw a team that had an elite defense but had such a poor offense that we almost didn't make a bowl game. Then, that team lost its two best offensive players and two of its top defensive players. By all logic, that defense will take a step back (if only slightly) due to losing two of its top players. That also means that the 110th offense will take a bigger step back because our only good players, the ones we counted on to provide any semblance of offense, left.
As a result, logically, one would assume our 6-6 team would take a step back, right? Why shouldn't people say that this will be a 6-6 team then? If the same team (considering we redshirt almost all freshmen) that just went 6-6 loses its only two serviceable offensive players and two defensive starters, wouldn't it make sense that we would go in the area of 6-6 or even a little below it?
It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.
