Easy solution: Don't lose
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski expressed concern for his players' safety after the Blue Devils' upset loss to Virginia on Thursday,
I would be concerned too if my players were a bunch of pretty boy prep school rich dicks.
Coach K is such a whiny bitch. Between this crap and the Maryland thing, I've really lost a lot of respect for him.
The only thing getting hurt in the court storming are his feelings.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
That's a solution that no one has pulled off in 36 years.
What a whiner. I'm opposed to college coaches getting 2 minute credit card ads that are basically recruiting pitches aired during an entire NCAA tournament. That to me is a lot more dangerous to the sport.
K is a whiner and shouldn't have addressed this publicly, but he has a point. One of these stormings is going to go horrendously wrong at some point with a player/fan confrontation. I am surprised it hasn't happened already.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Ahhhh, Ratface is concerned someone might call him a *&%$# and his poor players might get touched. Oh, my, what are we to do.
Apparently, at Duke, the students wait patiently along the sidelines until the opposing team walks from the floor, THEN they storm the court. Very Civilized Dukies.
Edit: Hey Ratface, in case you didn't notice the UVA players were calling your players SOFT throughout the game AND they were knocking them down all over the court.

What was the Maryland thing?
He whined about Md going to the B1G.
Instead of rushing the court students should be focusing on visiting players recently deceased family members. Duke basketball... Stay classy.
I would imagine sometime something will happen, but between all the basketball and football situations where crazy fans run on the field/court there has been no issues that I can remember. I am sure there have been incidents but nothing that is too bad. All you have to do is get off the court quickly, should not be an issue.
Agreed, but if one player or student takes a swing and it's caught on camera, what a nightmare for everyone involved.
Coach Kay needs to reach down and find a pair.
Didn't we learn anything from this near tragedy.. Sure this girl isn't that hot, but someday someone really good looking is going to get hurt.
"Megan Dills, a Kentucky graduate and lifelong Wildcats fan, told VaughtsViews.com she was knocked down five or six stairs in the crush of red-clad fans trying to get to the court after Christian Watford's game-winning three as time expired. Doctors diagnosed Dills with a sprained ankle and some torn tendons, forcing her to cancel a Playboy photo shoot this Saturday in Indiana."
Coack K is 100% correct. He's not against storming the court, he just said that there was inadequate protection for his team (or any other visiting team) at UVA. If you read the story it says there was nothing but a few ropes to define the way to the locker room and 1 security guard. Can you imagine that happening at Breslin? UVA had not thought out the logistics of this situation and the ACC needs to have better rules about this.
So Coach K has legitimate concerns about player safety. Wasn't it just last season had concerns about player safety in regards to temporary court logos that aren't part of the actual court? Was that whining?
It's not whining and do not be surprised if Izzo takes a similar position as Coach K. You may not like the messenger, but what he is saying has merit.

Yes, but he shouldn't have brought it up the way he did. Have the AD address the situation through back channels. This does nothing but enhance his reputation as a sniveling whiner.
You can be right and whiny. These aren't mutually exclusive. He always complains after a loss, so this isn't new.
Coach K is sick of getting beat on the road...and watching fans storm the court.
He's worried about what fans will say to players or coaches? Duke students probably get closer to the court than any other fans DURING THE GAME. Is he worried about that too?
Not to mention they surely are violating the fire code.
Isn't there a police officer there to help escort them?
Also, why do we have to take every precaution for every measure that may ever happen, someday? The thing about college basketball is that when you are a student, that court is part of your home, part of where you live. That's part of what makes college sports exciting...lets not turn this into pro sports where there will be 40 police officers on the court at the buzzer. Lighten up, Francis.
I actually agree with him, you have to let the players and staff exit safely. Storm all you want after that. Dakich was on mike and mike talking about how his best player at bgsu was injured after a win, but he supports storming. It was like he was making the counterpoint to his own argument.
It's been happening since the dawn of man and I've never heard of anyone getting hurt.

shouldn't safety precautions be put in place before somebody gets hurt, not after?
