Don't post poop!
Depends on who gets hurt.
players have gotten hurt while celebrating on their own as well.
we should ban any celebratory action by the players as well, since that would prevent these injuries.
There was a girl at Stanford who was injured to the point her athletic career ended. There have been several other incidents that haven't gotten much publicity. People have been injured.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
"Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, angry over what he perceived as a lack of crowd control while his Blue Devils tried to leave the court following Thursday’s loss at Virginia, traded F-bombs with at least one fan and had to be restrained by security before being ushered into his locker room."
Duke had a tough time leaving the court after Thursday's loss, clashing with fans on the way out.
He's talking about the route to get from the court to the locker rooms. That should be a heavily protected area.
nobody is saying to ban it; just make it safer for the players and coaches to leave the area.
Andy Katz was just on and said there are some things you can do to increase safety and still allow the court storm.
When Duke played Miami this year, they knew the students would storm the court if Miami won. The Miami coach told Coach K before the game, "If we win we will skip the post game handshakes and security will help you guys get off the court ASAP." Katz said Virginia had no such plan. The SEC fines the schools for doing this.
WTF is rat face crying about???
The ushers come down and form a wall between the players and the students. No students even come close to any Duke players.
The dookies calmly shake hands and sulk off to the locker room.
I don't see what he is crying about.
After a huge upset of No.3 Duke, Virginia fans celebrated with the Cavalier players by storming the court.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic league in the United States. In 2011, the conference announced it was adding Syracuse and Pittsburgh to expand to fourteen members beginning in the 2013 academic year. In 2012, the ACC announced it would add Notre Dame in all sports but football and hockey.

Coach K is just being a whiny rat bastard.
I think we should build a big dome steel mesh cage around the court, kinda like the mad max fight dome (2 men enter, one man leave), so that at the end of the game the fans can only climb on the outside of the cage like a bunch of spider monkeys.
Didn't read the article. Have there been instances of serious injuries related to storming of the court in the past?
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
He's talking about the path between the court and the locker rooms not the court itself. Apparently it was poorly secured and the UVA fans were total dicks.
They got off the court just fine and had a protected exit. Looks like that side of the court (where Duke is) has a lot of security in place.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
Coach K has had this opinion for years, it's not anything new. In 2006, FSU fans stormed the court before the game was over, so after the court was cleared, Coach K send his players to the lockerroom instead of finishing the game.
In Arizona, there was a high school player who hit a game winning shot and suffered a torn carotid artery (which led to a stroke) when fans rushed the court.
As soon as someone ends up injured in a high profile case and some university has to pay out millions in damages, the court rushing will end. Until then enjoy it.
That area has nothing to do with "rushing the court". He's been in that arena dozens of times and has won time and time again. Don't you think that Duke would be more likely to get "abused" heading to the locker room after they just creamed the home team? He should be fully aware of how things are handled there. To choose last night to whine makes him look silly.
Hmmm, that SHOULD be: "sniveling RatFaced whiner", but we'll let it pass this time...
Nίκη για MSU
While you're right, it's regular as clockwork that Coach K will complain about fans rushing the court every other season.
That's not the case. Read this article:
I did read it earlier, especially the part where he took the classy high road by exchanging F bombs.
He's turning into "old guy bitching about something" every time his team loses.
Our fans probably would but having seen the personality of out coaches I highly doubt they would.
Posting member of tRCMB since 1997.
It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Agreed, could never see our coaches in an exchange with opposing fans. I could see Izzo screaming F-bombs at our own fans, though, if we were screaming F-bombs at the opposing coach. He hates when fans are classless.
What the fuck is that supposed to mean!?!?!?!?
Good point. He's been around long enough to know not to argue with fans. He's just sick of losing, and seeing other teams/fans be happy at his expense.
And, why is Plumlee reading tweets about Virginia fans storming the court? And, if he was that concerned...why didn't he run off the court?
I thought Virginia did a pretty good job with security post-game. If Coach K wants to exchange F bombs (and argue) with fans...that's a Coach K problem.
