"Put your mother in a straight-jacket you punk ass white boy." ~ Mike Tyson
I'm hoping for that many from us. 20K would probably be our ceiling. It was a tough season to watch, and AZ is a long way away from East Lansing, but the bowl game was a good experience last year, we had a lot of momentum going into this year, and we're some masochistic motherfuckers.

BTW, please don't say "Rose Bowl" around here. It's a bit of a sore subject.

JTFC, even TCU has been to a Rose Bowl in the last decade. I forgot all about that! Fuck my balls.

Out-of-place serious question: Who do you and TCU fans in general consider to be your top 3 rivals? Tell us a little known or random fact about your rivalry with each respective program.
1) Michigan -- It's unrequited, though; we consider them our top rival while they consider tO$U to be theirs. Most of their fans are arrogant (much of it being unfounded) and generally miserable people. When petitioning to join the Big Ten in the late 1940s, Michigan attempted to undermine our efforts and block us from doing so, which is the basis for much of our hatred. There is too much to say about them in one post. I'm sure others will help me out.
2) Notre Dame -- Most of them consider USC their top rival and they despise Michigan as well. We're probably third or fourth on their rivalry list, honestly. Back when Notre Dame was establishing its program, wanted to join the Big Ten, and beat Michigan for the first time, Michigan's racist and anti-Catholic coach/athletic director Fielding Yost blackballed them. What is funny is that Notre Dame, who was taught the game by Michigan, caught up to and surpassed them as a program and are now arguably the most prestigious program in college football history. We hate the Irish, but most Spartans, on the other hand, will always have a level of respect for them because they were crucial to MSU's acceptance into the Big Ten. As hard as Michigan was pushing to keep us out, ND -- already an established, prestigious program at the time -- gave us legitimacy by playing us, both at Notre Dame Stadium and at Macklin Stadium at the time (now Spartan Stadium).
3) Wisconsin -- This choice is up for debate, but in recent years, every game with Wisconsin has been intense and down to the wire. We've beaten them four out of the last five years (they're now going to their third straight Rose Bowl), and like someone else said earlier, it would have been us playing you in the Rose Bowl in 2010, if not for a conference rule change that was implemented the season before. Us, Wisconsin, and tO$U each won a share of the conference title that year with a 7-1 record. We were 1-0 against the other two winners, and they were 1-1 and 0-1 respectively. While before, the program with the longest Rose Bowl drought (us, 1988) would be chosen in case of a tie, Wisconsin went because they were the highest ranked in the BCS. Ohio State is the source of much of our ire, though, with their well-documented "TatooGate." Our douchetastic conference commissioner lobbied, despite allegations of the scandal well before bowl season, for OSU to go to the Sugar Bowl, and so we, naturally, were the only conference winner not to be chosen for a BCS bowl. We were instead given the gift of facing Alabama in the Cap. One Bowl, and as we all know, we were bent over and spanked (by despised former MSU head coach Nick Saban, nonetheless).

MAn I know when he got killed by that Boar it was Cray
Thanks for the scoop. I've always been impressed with Gary Patterson. He's a top 5 coach in the country and he's turned down a lot of big $$$$ to stay at TCU. You're going to see the best defense you've faced all year by far with MSU. But on the other hand you'll face the most inept offensive game plan and playcalling all year. In fact your scout team will be scratching their heads during bowl practice wondering why they are simulating such stupidity. Hint.....have your defensive backs stand within 2 yards of the sidelines on every play and just wait, that's where our receivers end up on just about every pass route. We don't throw anything between the hash marks until we're down at least 2 scores. I'm predicting a 13-10 final, with your TD on an interception return and ours on blocked punt. Oh....and we'll miss one critical field goal, that's a guarantee.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity. - Frank Leahy.-- If you're going to be stupid, be smart about it. - Mike Milbury
This thread really sums up the RCMB. My God I love this place.
Patterson top 5 lol.
your mom, oprah, barbra walter. you have to marry one, fuck one, and kill one - GO!
East Lansing- A Drinking Town with a Football Problem
What the Hell are you doing here?
Yup 116-35 at TCU, what a disgraceful record. You're an idiot.
Patterson made $3,467,926 this year, a number that makes him the 10th-highest paid coach in the country at TCU, although he did say he would always listen if called by potential suitors.
Did he recruit Ladanian Tomlinson?
Is it true that "if I don't use it" I'm going to "lose it"? I reallllllly don't wanna lose it
tl;dr - especially after not seeing Indiana listed as our #1 rival. Forks down, bitch.
Tomlinson graduated in 2000. Patterson took over in 2001, You're an idiot.
What are you thoughts on Jerry Kill's seizures (since Patterson and Kill are buddy-buddy)? Who's more likely to murder a player, Jerry Kill or Mike Leach?
Do real men wear purple? Does TCU wear Black for Black's sake (uniwatch!)?
How does it feel to be in the Big 12?
Most famous non-football playing alum?
Has Orangebloods confirmed that you are not some elaborate schtick?
Yes, he has an established track record of beating the likes of New Mexico, UNLV, Colorado State, Wyoming, Air Force, UAB, Rice, UTEP and Memphis. He's really not that much different than Petersen. Some major conference scalps sprinkled in with a lot of layups. Only difference is Patterson has a lot more of a recruiting advantage.
Is he a good coach? Absolutely. Not Top 5 though. It's just my opinion, but that program will go the way of Utah as they settle into their BCS conference. Not saying they will flat out suck, but 8-4/7-5ish is probably the ceiling.
"Patterson made $3,467,926 this year"
Where does TCU get that kind of cash?
Leftover drug money from the football team
Petersen is the best coach. I'm talking what guys do when they play the big boys, only their roster isn't full of highly recruited kids. Patterson is right there with him. Nope, they don't play as tough a schedule, but head to head with teams who recruit from the same talent pool, they dominate. There are 10 vacant coaching jobs right now, either one of them could have pretty much any of them with a single phone call. That's how good they are.
