Gundy has a pretty good deal at OK State.
8 years? Is Tennessee really going to give him a longer deal?
Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy's new eight-year, $30.3 million contract includes a big boost at the beginning.
No way would he get those texas recruits to follow him to UT, he stays at Okie St

If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day.
His agent is just working Tennessee...in my opinion.
Vols look like they will be left out of finding any decent coach left.

RT @McMurphyESPN: Louisville working on extending Charlie Strong's current 5-year deal sources said. Strong had an offer from Tennessee
Gator Bill +1 just because I feel your pain on your location. I see mostly MTSU people here, but outside of Murfreesboro is all rednecksville.

@ TENN fans
they thought they were actually gonna get Gruden and now coaches are just using them for a raise
"Put your mother in a straight-jacket you punk ass white boy." ~ Mike Tyson
They are in debt. If they weren't, I think they'd open up the bank for Gruden (and his assistants).
espn reporting gundy staying at okie state.....
so who's next one down the list......
currently in major cluster mode with Charlie Strong. Negotiating with him as he negotiates with UL. Maybe this process will teach him the value of an agent.
I bet he has an agent. I heard he really wants the South Carolina job when Spurrier leaves. So, he's probably just working Tennessee to get more money out of Louisville for a couple of years.
They're going to copy the Arkansas plan, hire John L for a year so the fans beg for any other slob that becomes available. It will make the next coaching train wreck look like a minor side swipe.

Supposedly that's ALL he runs...he apparently doesn't even watch the defense, he just schemes with the O when they are on D.
Does no have an agent. That is an accurate report. He is negotiating with Louisville and UT on his own.
And while the SC job would be very attractive, there has been more success at UT than SC has ever had. It would be a great place to land, if not for an AD that is not always minding his own business.
No reason to work UT over. It is a worthwhile job.
That plan will not work at UT. They have to make a hire or lose a shit ton of donor money. Promoting from within is not going to happen
Probably easier to recruit at South Carolina these days.
Tennessee is in trouble unless they hit a home run with this.

There had also been reports of Gundy to Arkansas. Supposedly Gundy doesn't get along with the AD, which is to say, he doesn't get along with T. Boone Pickens. Maybe by flirting with other jobs, Gundy got whatever it is that he wanted...or maybe, he had demands made of him that he couldn't live up to, and he wanted to jump. It just seems odd with him being an alum and all, and the checkbook of Pickens on your side. But then, Perles didn't mind shaking down MSU either, so I guess you never really know what's going on till it happens.
I hadn't heard about problems between Gundy and Mike Holder until now, but this makes sense. More info from the Daily Oklahoman at the link, which also indicates Gundy had flirtations with Miami and Texas A&M last year.
OSU remains Mike Gundy's Yankee job. But it's a job he's finding increasingly distasteful. Gundy has flirted with Arkansas and Tennessee in recent days, either as a poker play or to seriously consider leaving his alma mater, and here's why.
