This is a f***ing joke, that is all.
"Stats are for Losers." - Pat "Nardawg" Narduzzi
Great play by Payne. He was in the air before Zeller took his position. Great game by both sides though.
And the ref loved making that emphatic call by the way.
We are in an age of over-officiating. It is a damn shame that the refs decided this game.
The constant need for them to be the center of attention is ruining the game.
The worst was Nix being grabbed and pulled three feet then called for traveling. That was simply awful.
Nothing but respect for IU, they make shots, but these refs can go fornicate themselves with an iron rod.
When do we EVER get that kind of home cooking?
Usually don't like to complain about the refs but geezus some of those calls were blatantly wrong. Frustrating because we were right there!
Two horrible travel calls made a big impact on the game as it turns out. I still don't understand either one.
0 fouls on Indiana in final 7:27.
I've never seen Izzo complain to the refs so much in a game, and it wasn't b/c he was in a whiny mood. We got absolutely homered, and Izzo knew it. That guy with the black hair, whom I'm guessing is Crean's golf caddy, didn't make a call for us all game. It's pretty bad when that bald fucker is the guy being nicest to us, that guy hates us. All three refs homered us. Called a totally different game on the two ends.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
These are two very good, very evenly-matched teams. Home court advantage likely decided the outcome, and hopefully it will return us the favor. On a neutral court this is anybody's game (hopefully decided in the Final Four).
@Graham_Couch: If Hoosiers need these calls and no Appling to win against MSU at home, they won't win the Big Ten.
Home cooking in frogspear hall is as predictable is the sun rising in the east. If you walk out of there within 10, you outplayed them.
IU ALWAYS gets calls at home. That travel call was atrocious and a big turning point.
That Dawson travel call was turrible.
CBoggs, I'm with you when it comes to complaining about officiating, but today was jaw-dropping bad.
Also, the one at the end where four of their guys knock it out of bounds, and the refs give it back to them. Totally mystified on that one.
RE Nix: The refs thought calling a foul on IU wouldn't look good at all.
RE Trice: The ref thought calling a foul on Trice would be too obvious.
I've lost respect for them. What am I supposed to respect about a team that gets away with hacking? At the beginning of the year, I thought IU had the chops for a FF run, but now, I don't think they're going to make it. Zeller's supposed great drive to the hoop? Oladipu got away with a blatant moving screen.
Not IU's fault they got the calls. Sure, they reaped the rewards, but they have a great team. Made crazy shots, they took one of our best punches and won.
It was handed to them. If we get anything close to an evenly-officiated game today, IU's got two home losses and is probably out of the race. I'll be surprised if they win the BT.
Zeller is no good against quality bigs. Looks like another marginal NBA big at best.
The good thing about all that home cooking is you can't take it with you in the tourney. Zeller is soft and IU is not a final 4 team.
There's nothing I hate more than bitching about referees, especially after MSU losses. But I'm hard up to think of a time I've seen Tom that consistently animated and pissed on the sidelines. How he was never T'ed up is a minor miracle. Awful officiating in this game.
Boys, I may not know much, but I know chicken shit from chicken salad. -- Lyndon Johnson
Except it happens all the time for them.
Just for fun, I checked out MGoBlow to see what an "impartial" fanbase thought. Well, more about half the posts were how MSU was getting screwed over by the refs, most of the others were at how well MSU played. The rest were about football. Go figure.
I have mostly given up on watching away Big Ten games. I'll occasionally do a check to see if we are winning, but it is so obvious what will happen, there is no need to check in. Didn't watch today, after reading some threads, game turned out about what I would have predicted.
