So tpain do you stand by your statement? Do you think they go 4-7 the rest of the way?
Sometimes it doesn't pay off to try to win the race to quit on your team first.
I just didn't see them improving THIS MUCH
After the losses to UConn and Miami, I doubt there were many on this board that thought this team would start out 6-1 in the league
Like I said, I was wrong and I'm happy I was wrong
Can you make this post into its own thread so it can be pinned?

You have to be a teenager. Cuz no Izzo team has ever had bad losses before conference play.
Seriously, if you are 12, this is excused.
Nor were there any pumping WVU as being better than Miami. That was an army of one, or two with Jack P.
Where is Coach VenomousDuck and his .750 winning percentage to break down the rest of the road for this team? I believe he's 0-2 picking MSU these last two games.
-1 for sucking at posting
I did. I thought we were a young supremely talented squad that was missing two important players in the Miami game - while Miami was also better than people gave them credit for - and that by the time Big ten play rolled around had a damned good shot at competing for the league crown. It was easy to look at our schedule and see 6-1 as a possibility because wisky is down and OSU is one dimensional. I was willing to wait and see how things developed and gradually saw the turnovers disappear and scoring improve from numerous guys as they got more comfortable.
You know, the same thing that happens EVERY FREAKING YEAR!
Exactly. There are far too many children around here are ready to take their toys and go home if they don't win every game. Now, he's on the wagon, but if we lose against OSU, we'll be dog meat again.
Nothing says, "child," like not handling adversity.
I actually thought pretty much the same thing at the end of the December but I'm glad I'm wrong. Sometimes we are too critical of our own team especially when we don't follow other teams.
Can we all agree to a board wide ignore of t-pain? If no one see his posts then he'll go away.
Except there's no reason to be critical in December. That's like.. rule numero uno for MSU basketball under Tom Izzo and yet after all these years with similar scripts some RCMBers are still completely soaked from head to toe in their own piss if the team starts worse than 9-0.
Become a Syracuse fan if you want 15-0 starts.

Illinois, much closer to home
Speak for yourself, chief.
There have been plenty of posters on this board who kept telling the chicken littles to at least wait a little before throwing a Tom Izzo team under the bus.
MSU may or may not win the B1G, but you and a lot of others on this board are so quick to throw your own feces at the team before February 1st. Haven't you been watching for the past 10-18 years?!
If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in a kingdom of the blind.

I'm not being critical. I just thought realistically that's the best they could do. I didn't go the Breslin Center and yell from the stands, "You'll be 10-8 in the Big Ten!" I don't think the guy that started this thread did either.
This team does have a high ceiling though. They are just scratching the surface of their potential. Just imagine next year when they have more experience.
There were also a lot of people who knew that UConn and Miami are pretty decent teams, and losing to them on a neutral court and away, while crappy, is not the end of the world. Both of those teams are pretty good and not meltdown-worthy losses.
everything is a meltdown worthy loss to some around here. Hell, some wins induce meltdowns...
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
Mods please don't go and ruin everyone's fun by locking this thread
Dawson, Appling & Payne could be gone next year, or at least that's the early word. Along with Nix graduating...
Doubt it. Especially Appling
MSU sucks! 10-8 ceiling! They have no shooters, shot 38% against a bunch of un-athletic floppers and could barely get to the line. Didn't hit clutch FTs that could have put the game away, gave up a late 3 which got Wisconsin within 1 point. Why do Izzo teams always suck at 3pt FG defense? Had more TOs than assists and didn't out-rebound the opponent. Throw in the towel, these guys are going to get destroyed by UM, OSU, Indiana the rest of the way. 5th place at best.
I 100% hope you're right.
