Great W tonight. B1G could come down to our games vs. scUM. Should make for some great hoops.
None of them are ready it would be extremely foolish if they left.
what "early word"? yours?
Early word from who?
There is a devil in every berry of the grape. - The Koran
Dawson, Appling & Payne could be gone next year, or at least that's the early word. Along with Nix graduating...
(damn iPad didn't let me quote)
Maybe Dawson will leave out of fear he'll injure his leg again, but even that would be foolish to consider at this point in the season. He needs to work on his game. They're not quite ready, but they will have a solid shot at the nba if they keep progressing like they are

If Dawson continues to get double doubles, he will shoot up the NBA draft board. He can get drafted as a lottery pick without a consistent jump shot. He has to be able to take people off the dribble at his size. If he can do that and rack up double doubles, he will be gone. Bell took a lot of Heat on Twitter last night for saying how Dawson was dominating and was going to the NBA. Bell then came back and said I did not say he was going to the league next year, but you all know Dawson is going to the NBA.
So Dawson has gone from being benched by tRCMB to being entered into the draft by tRCMB in two weeks. Sounds about right for this self loathing cesspool.
Dawson might leave this year if he continues to kick ass at his recent pace down the stretch. I don't think Appling or Payne have anything to gain by leaving early. Appling needs to continue to develop his skills as a PG to have a good shot at the NBA. Payne's lung condition will make NBA teams wary, and although his skills are improving he's still raw. I don't see any NBA teams taking a risk
This isn't that school with this piss-colored uniforms; our guys aren't going to bail early to be late second-round picks or go undrafted.
If you check my posts, I have never said bench Dawson. That injury to his knee will certainly be a factor if he continues to play well and get double doubles. The recognition will come, he is playing in the best conference right now. If Payne and Dawson can consistently play to their potential, MSU has a real shot at winning it all. Payne and Dawson are nightmare matchups for most teams.
In basketball and after 2003 anyway
You can hate it, or take it for the entertainment for which it is.
I love these crazy bastards
I agree this thread should be pinned or at least bumped every November when self loathers seemingly forget everything they know about Tom Izzo and race to be the first to declare the season a failure. Honestly, how does any reasonably intelligent Spartan fan open his mouth before March and declare an Izzo team dead?
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
Dawson seems to be on an incredible upward trajectory right now. He is improving game by game. He's even hitting that awkward looking jump shot of his. You see a bunch of guys underneath the backboard jockeying for position, and if Dawson is in the middle of the pack you just know he's going to rise above everybody and get the rebound, or a tip in.
Its five o'clock somewhere.
Concur. Wish he could have better luck on some of those put backs rattling in instead of out.
The 'proverbial' (Or whatever) light seems to be going on for him. So often in the past he was playing at the wrong speed and forcing things left and right. Now things seem to be slowing down for him out there. He has to stop shooting anything outside of 15' but that little dribble to L and pull up J near the foul line is Jordan esque and a thing of beauty.
Dawson was a beast on the glass last night and it would have been even more overwhelmingly obvious if he'd been able to secure that last rebound late in the game.
Appling has taken a similar step lately too. He now really seems be all but a true PG who is totally comfortable with the rock in his hands.

Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
He is super strong with the ball. I always feel comfortable with the fact that he's a grown ass man surrounded by boys under the basket. If he can get his hands on it, he's usually going to grab it, and he is damn good at tipping and redirecting the ball too.
He's really coming into his own. I think he's gone after next season and if he can develop a jumper, watch the fuck out.
If he comes out this year, I will give you my car, house and all its contents if Dawson is a lottery pick.
You answered your own question.
He has to continue to dominate, but it could happen. None of us knew at the beginning of last season that Green would be a consensus All-American at the end of the year. He played his way to that level. If Dawson continues playing the way he is anything is possible. The part that kills me is did it ever occur to you that Dawson has raised his level of play because he is trying to get to the league this year. Bell talking about Dawson going to the NBA on twitter last night did not come out of thin air. I am sure Dawson has made his goals known.
Every athlete ever wants to play professionally. He doesn't have to make those goals known.
So you're ripping RP's schtick now? You teeny boppers are so cute. One minute you're playing with old man tanners coin pouch, next thing we know you're repeating what other kids say verbatim.
My condolences on the win for MSU last night. That couldn't have helped the walvie push for a league title.
I know he does not. Athletes talk and they are friends. Green and Worthy are the best example of that . They both wanted to play in the NFL, and NBA and they are living their dreams. Last night when Bell made a reference to Dawson playing in the NBA next year on twitter, he caught a lot if backlash from MSU fans, to the point where he came back and changed his statement. He changed from Dawson being in the NBA next year to we all know he will play in the league one day. For some reason, players leaving early is a sensitive subject to fans.

For what it's worth, I think it's noble of you to be a founding member of The Justice League.
Does your Justice League membership ever interfere with your volunteer sheriff duties? Or how about your quota for citizen arrests in a month?
It's not really Justice League. He just thinks you're a douche.
