No. And I was in Lansing in the 90s
Staudt has twitter? Ahaha
I remember, but it was strictly self-promotion on Tim's part, I never heard even a hint of anything about him from State.

Joe Falls used to frequently suggest he get the job.
It makes having a Twitter account worth it. Absolute (unintentional) gold.
More from Staudt on Twitter:

For whatever reason I have more dinners and banquets in spring than at any other time.

Pistons have no credibility in this state. They need something monstrously dramatic to turn their fortunes around-don't know what it is tho..

Does it make sense for the MSU players to draft the cheerleaders? Now that I'd be enthused about.

Haven't been to funeral in while. Gd Hotel chmn RD Musser tomorrow. Govs Snyder and Blanchard expected. Church won't nearly be big enough.
I've heard he gets to golf a lot . . .
I also think he has a successful wife. Probably has a big house, nice bank account, golfs all the time, maybe a summer place on the lake. All things I would love some day, but I have to think there would be something missing by never leaving an 8 mile radius and at least attempting to do something meaningful, or rewarding, or great.
I bet I could find a random bro on Grand River, give him a six pack, and get a better show
That would be show prep. Tim doesn't do show prep. He just opens the mic and the phone lines and starts talking about whatever interests him . . . i.e., his own golf game, his kids, high school sports (in that order).
Trevor and Staudt used to do a segment called Tailgate Talk. Now Tim kind of seems to dis "the internet" for whatever reason. Maybe he isn't getting enough sponsors through there anymore.
I will say that Tim Staudt's book "Staudt on Sports" is pretty amazing. It cost $20 when it was printed (paperback) and included an ad for Auto Owners Insurance as the full back cover of the book. There were also plenty of other ads in the beginning and end of the book. Not exaggerating.
Deep Thoughts.....with Tim Staudt
At least he isn't exploring the yawning v ghost dicks dilemma.
This seems a little dramatic. How many people do something "meaningful, or rewarding, or great" with their lives? Are you currently in Africa bringing drinking water to remote villages?
My fave was "Haven't been to a funeral in a while," like it's a movie or putt putt golfing.
I have really been impressed with the number of guests that Jack has pulled in. He is such a nice alternative to the national shows and Huge.
Timmy's been around a really long time. My best friend and I once dumped a box of popcorn on him and his date from the balcony of Dem Hall at the end of a hockey game. They were sitting in the chairs down below behind the screens. She was wearing an awful looking zebra striped winter coat. Think that was late 60's or early 70's...
.....I was born to synthesize.....
My dad listens to him religiously almost every day, calls in also. Has not gotten a prize yet.
Used to call in a lot and ask why Costello wasnt getting more playing time.
Maybe now that Nix is gone he wont have to call

Joe Falls hated MSU and was pretty much in Don Canham pocket like many in the Detroit media were during his era.
He has a big place up in Charlavoix I believe.
Yeah, I guess it was a little over the top. It just seems like there is a time in life to mail it in, and it seems like Tim has been doing it forever. He has gotten himself in a great position in this specific community and he is a pretty pathetic sports voice/person/personality or whatever you want to call him. Just feel like the guy is a big fish in the same old small pond who hasn't done much and now doesn't do much. I feel like MSU sports deserves better. But I guess hes done some stuff for the children's hospital, so that's admirable.
I was just giving you s***. You're absolutely right - he's been coasting for years in terms of being a sportscaster. He's not exactly out there digging for leads like Rexrode or the guys at MLive. He seems perfectly happy mailing it in every day, but then again millions of people do at their own jobs - he just happens to be comfortable mailing it in even though he's on TV and the radio.
No. I am bringing the villages to the drinking water. Much better that way.
Timmy's making a comfortable living at more than minimum wage and probably gets comped in all the area restaurants & bars to the tune of zilly $$ when it's all added up. Not only that, but he probably gets 10% off at Holden-Reid in Frandor.
Why on earth would he want to change this setup for another gig where he might actually have to work? His style is "Joe Everyman for every occasion". He's the dean of sports broadcast journalists in mid-Michigan fer cryin' out loud.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
Ahem. It's "The Dean of Sports". Get it straight.
(Disclaimer: This title is self-proclaimed)
I turned on Tim's show this morning but all I heard were advertisements on my entire commute. Then finally Comp got on so I had to sit in my car for a little bit to hear. I swear Tim said that with Payne "I dont think anyone cares any more what his decision is going to be. The question now is what day is he going to make the decision"
