is a very good basketball player and I hope he leaves after this season. While his team was pissing their pants, he was calm and collected all while getting APPsolutely smothered on defense.
I think March 3 will be a much closer game but that will be up to his teammates, who were destroyed tonight, because Burke lived up to his hype in my opinion.
and go fuck yourself, Michigan.
But, in the words of Benjamin Franklin, "fuck that punk ass bitch."
Burke is a great player, but it appears he no longer trusts his teammates. Wasn't getting them involved a lot last night. He basically is their team, without Burke they're an NIT team at best.
As Dakich said, somebody has to get points on a bad team.
Yep, agree with Johnny. Rewatching the game now, and it just seems he is jacking it whenever he gets. Lots of bad shots (many do go in), but he is playing NBA ball already. That doesn't work in college.
First time I actually got to see him play. Is he really shorter than Appling?

michigan is screwed if he leaves, which I think he will. Hardaway JR and GRIII pull Houdini's everytime this team plays on the road. Stauskas is a good player, but will never be on of the B1G's best. McGary is heading for what i though being a solid big guy, but not a guy you can run the offense thru. Not sure who they have coming in this year though
I never noticed it before but Burke is a very dirty player.
scUM better get it done in the dance this year - this is their shot. Last night showed the whole world that their entire team runs through Burke, and are absolute dogshit without him. Once he gone for NBA money, back to mediocrity they go. Can't f'n wait.
Trey Burke can suck my d, absolutely undercut appling on purpose (then app got the charge, thank god), what a bitch player
Huh? Referring to what?? The kid is a player. I didn't see anything dirty that we wouldn't call 'tough' if it wasn't our guys.
There is a devil in every berry of the grape. - The Koran
He walked underneath Appling on a jump shot, giving Appling no place to land. That is a dirty play.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
He does make some damn difficult shots, which can be demoralizing when you have defended him well. He's just one of those players that will get his, but if you keep him out of the lane and keep him from getting others involved and getting open looks, you can limit their effectiveness.
As hard as App worked on D last night, I thought a huge key was the fantastic hard hedges by Nix and Payne. They hedged strong and stayed an extra beat or two, kept Burke out of the lane (almost entirely...I can barely remember him getting to the paint all night), gave App a chance to recover, then hustled their rear ends off to get back to their man and prevent the dive to the rim.
Fantastic, fantastic D last night. Just breathtaking. That reminded me a LOT of the Cleaves teams, great on the ball D combined with decisive switches, hedges and inside defensive presence. Hope the guys can see what is possible when they play that kind of defense.
In what way did he live up to the hype? he scored 18pts had 4 assists, 2 turnovers, 4 fouls in 30 minutes and was barely noticeable, definitely didn't outshine Keith in any way whatsoever... the hype was that it's either him or Olidipo for the Wooden award and that he was the next coming of Magic Johnson...
If he lived up to that then your bar is set abysmally low.
blatantly and intentionally undercut someone taking a jump shot.
Look I know you have only been watching hoops since last year, but beal99 doesn't have all day to explain basketball to you.
Walked under a jump shooter, like Novak and Douglass used to do. Cheap, dirty, dangerous play.
I think you missed the whole, let me undercut appling and maybe break his leg play, and then run into him and throw my elbow at his face
I told a Walverine on FB that Burke is dirty because he undercut Appling and this is how he responded:
"Burke never undercut him, Appling jumped into him and initiated the contact while Burke never moved"
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
He didn't just walk under him. He stuck his hip out as he walked in. Just a really dirty play, then 2 seconds later he dropped his shoulder into Appling.

I didn't see it that way at all. Watch the play from behind. Looks like Appling jumped up and to the left into/over Burke. Burke just stood his ground.
Last time I checked 18pts, 4 assists on 2 turnovers was a solid game, oh and at Breslin.
Exactly, he plays on the line with his bumping. Refs did not let him get away with it last night. He's got a nice shot and could be dangerous IF the rest of his team was involved (but they weren't ). I expect the same (but closer) result down in scumville.
Nίκη για MSU
Isn't that enough
I don't think Burke is a dirty player, but that undercut on Appling was definitely dirty.
