Can somebody please throw up the scholarship chart so we can figure out who needs to get kicked off the team to make this happen!?!
Wouldn't it make more sense for that kid to be looking at scum? Exchange one Trey for another?

Trey Zeigler, the son of former Pitt assistant Ernie Zeigler, will visit Pitt this weekend. Zeigler is transferring from Central Michigan after Ernie was fired as the head coach.
Zeigler is petitioning the NCAA to be able to play next season.
All breaking news.
All jokes aside, does he visit AA soon?

Ah, the ole' "My-dad-got-fired" clause?
ya he wont be playing next season. I mean what reason? Daddy got fired so I had to transfer. It's not like Arnet where his father was ill.
The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.
Pittsburg lock now IMHO.
The "my dad got a job far away" has worked before. This has a chance.
Well, this is certainly an unexpected-- and head-scratching -- development. When it was confirmed back in January that Amir Carlisle would be transferring from USC to Notre Dame, the running back's father made it clear that a change in employers -- Duane Carlisle was with the San Francisco 49ers ...
brushed his teeth with his off hand
A Nix premonition?
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..

NCAA: Transfer player will be eligible for Pitt basketball next season
May 25, 2012 5:49 pm
By Ray Fittipaldo / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Pitt coach Jamie Dixon announced this afternoon that the NCAA has granted a waiver for transfer Trey Zeigler and he will be eligible to play next season.
Zeigler, who transferred to Pitt from Central Michigan last month, applied for a waiver because his father, Ernie Zeigler, was fired as the head coach at Central Michigan.
Is this a different waiver than what arnett was applying for? It's hard to believe that this is what a hardship waiver was created for.
I saw that earlier and thought it was curious. Has the NCAA denied any immediate eligibility requests recently?

Is having a shitty coach for a father really a hardship?

Apparently this clause actually exists?
Edit: Meant to quote the post with the "My-dad-got-fired" clause.

We are not the same, I am a Spartan
All the time!
I don't get it. Your dad gets fired as a coach, you can transfer wherever, no problem, you can play immediately. But your dad is getting dialysis regularly while waiting for a transplant, and you transfer, the NCAA asks for more medical records several times and drags out the process for a lot longer than they should before letting you play immediately.
Did John Goss make a field goal yet?
The NCAA makes 99.9% of transfers, sit out for an entire school year.
CMU hired a family member of a recruit! Ziegler should be suspended for 1 game... oh, wait... hmmm... how does the ncaa rule on this one?
NCAA though did grant the waiver. Why it took so long we don't know and it doesn't matter. It could be incomplete info, too much info to verify, or the dude that does this thing took a vacation. MSU got the waiver, so you can't hold that against them.
Still though, who do we know this year who put in a waiver and got denied? I'm curious if the NCAA has relaxed this to basically just requiring someone to submit a 500 word essay about your sad story.
Pitt basketball transfer Zeigler will be eligible this year

"We're hopeful because of the circumstances that played out with my situation that he was going to be in a peculiar and awkward situation [at Central Michigan]," Ernie Zeigler told the Post-Gazette last month.
Pitt coach Jamie Dixon credited associate athletic director Dan Bartholomae for researching other cases involving players whose parents were dismissed. The highest profile case involved a baseball player being granted immediate eligibility at Miami after his father was fired at USC.
To Dixon's knowledge, Zeigler is the first men's basketball player to be granted immediate eligibility in such a case.
Did they ask for his 1040? A copy of his retirement package? His blood type? How many cavities he had as a child? Or at what age his testicles dropped?
Or was that only necessary for someone with a life threatening condition like Mr. Arnett and not something serious like Zeigler senior being unable to coach his way out of a wet paper bag?
