SIAP (kind of?), but the last thing I want to do is read every post on this board tonight.
Anyway, has anything been said as to why he did play much, if at all, in the second half? I completely understand why Dawson was absent, but Trice seemed somewhat effective in the first half.
Trice apparently in Izzo's doghouse again after sitting out most of second half. "It's just not the time for him."
Izzo: Trice said "he didn't know if Trice was OK or not" as to why he didn't play in second half. Said he didn't like how first half ended. Meaning it sounds like Trice was held out by a coach's decision. Izzo said he's been forcing the issue after being out so long.
He was contributing too much.
His shot was on and he was very good in the first half, I don't remember seeing him in the 2nd half. He has much more confidence than KA at this point in his shot. We need him to go anywhere in the NCAAs.
50% from 3, 40% overall, NO TURNOVERS, and 3 boards in a short time on the floor...yeah that doesn't sound like someone we could use when we are clanking shots and turning the ball over left and right......
said he thought he was forcing some shots, which is true. the runner near the end of a shot clock was a bad decision (had an open 3 instead but tried to drive), then jacked another 3 from way down town.
Right.......and led a great set at end of first half after time out. I am 100% positive that was not the shot MSU was remotely looking for in that situation. And, if you think that Izzo was not ready for UM to go 1-3-1 in that situation, than you know nothing about Izzo. He knew exactly what was happpening, and can guarantee they had 2 scenarios drawn up for that occasion. Trice failed to recognize the D, which caused him to take a terrible shot, which led to UM getting a basket just before buzzer. So, two points MSU doesn't get, 2 points UM gets. Basically, a 4 point swing, How many did MSU lose by again?
That play alone did not cost MSU the game, but I am pretty sure Izzo knows what he is doing.
I don't get this at all. Yeah he screwed up the last play of the half and jacked one bad 3 but overall I thought he played real well. Not enough of a reason to bench him and run the other guys raged.
One Night! One team! Kill blue! Bleed Green!
and appling handed the ball over when we had a chance at the last shot. I'm 100% positive that was not what we were even remotely looking for in that situation. harris handed it over on the last play. dawson handed it over multiple times. you dont bench a guy because he screwed up one possession when he's one of your only legitimate threats for a guard to make an open jump shot. This team needs what he brings to the table and he could have helped in the 2nd half
