I don't want to have to click a link to read a longer tweet, part of the beauty of twitter is being able to keep it under 140, and if you can't, then maybe it's too long of a story for twitter, get a blog.
It helps when you do mentions.

It's not Twitter's fault that some people are gross, and have no sense of privacy or shame.
This is true, without even directly tweeting at companies, just tweeting about something that happened to me and mentioning their company name, and I've had them tweet at me to contact them with details and they would hook me up, and they have.
My only regret is that I have but one upvote to give.
The special irony here is posting this as "Charlie Sheen." The actual Sheen's main activity recently has been posting the products of his cocaine binges on the internet, but for some reason its LeSean McCoy who's the final straw for Twitter.
If only LeSean had held a knife to the lady's throat he'd be considered a lovable eccentric with animals in his blood.
I think shitty newspapers and bad message board posters are ruining society.
I get most about 75% of my news from twitter, 20% from reddit, and 5% from here. I had never heard of this story until it was posted here.
stop posting links to shitty "news" and society will be better off
tig ol bitties is my real name. probably banned for something stupid. F t R
This feels like a setup. You won't catch me questioning management again.
meh, that's why I call it 'twatter'....as MOSTLY twats get on there and commiserate
I'm going to start calling it twister, because people twist up the english language on there.
Or "spitter" because dumb people are on there that probably spit when they talk.
You should just quit the internet.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
Power to the people!
Twitter can easily teach people about social movements such as Occupy Wall Street and even entice them to participate, according to a new study by an MSU education researcher.
University students studying the occupy wall street idiots. Really, Isnt that an Oxy Moron? This is the dumbest article ive ever read.
Social media has one purpose, and that it to allow attention seeking individuals the exposure they require to feel imporrant. The problem is that it is also destroying the development of the younger generation. Anyone who doesnt see that is an idiot IMO.
You are most certainly a crotchety old cloud yell at-er.
How the HELL is that worthy of having an article written about it in a newspaper... Wow
Just another tool for the government to keep tabs on you. Twitter was smart but, facebook was arrogant.

Bees are ruining society too.
Twitter doesn't ruin society, people ruin society.
Anybody that doesn't see the advantages to social media is being shortsighted. It is fantastic for the dissemination of information. Twitter was great during the protests in Iran in 2009 and during the Arab Spring. Hell, it was useful during the recent events in Boston.

You must work for the government.
If l hear somebody say "#anything" one more time, l might #GoCrazy
As others have noted, if you Twitter well, it's awesome. Great tool to bring your interests together in one place. For me, it's really valuable at keeping up-to-date on the conversation in my professional field. Easy to follow lots of things that would otherwise require an individual search each time.
Facebook already ruined society first
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
back in my day, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble, and children respected their elders.
