Considering the status of their team right now, with Dieng back on the floor, I'd pick Louisville as the best team.
Going on records alone, Duke has the most quality wins and should be ranked 1. Michigan and Arizona have to be behind them until they lose.

Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
They have beaten everyone they played, and beaten most teams handily. I hate UM as much as the next guy, but their ranking is appropriate right now. If you want to debate that they should be #3 instead of #2, fine. There is no legitimate argument for anything lower than that.
Louisville is definitely going to be a force this year. They also have a pair of pretty impressive wins over Missouri and Kentucky. They'll do some serious damage in the Big East.
I'm just pointing out that it's early in the season. Michigan is a good team. I don't think they've proven they're top 5 good. If this was the first week of ranking teams, would you put Michigan in the top 5 based on what they've done so far?
Best blend of talent and experience in America. They also play the zone press which most teams will not face and won't be able to prepare for. Two great ballhandlers and scorers in Smith and Siva, and a guy on the bench who can coach just a bit.
This shouldn't even be a thread on this board.
Yes, without a doubt - either #2 or #3. Name 5 teams you would rank ahead of them.
They definitely have the potential to be the best team in the country, but it's hard to put them above teams that have done more thus far and have comparable talent.
Without a doubt I would. They've looked solid - better than pretty much anyone except Duke and maybe Louisville with Dieng. Maybe Florida.
Arizona is gross.
Who should be 3-5 then? It sounds like your real argument is you don't think they should be top 2.

On record, sure. Can't rank them any higher than they are.
I still would pick them as the best team. That's different than basing it on record. Their only loss was to Duke and Dieng didn't play.
The rankings won't start to reflect the actual best teams until mid-January at the earliest. Right now there are potential top-5 teams throughout the top 25. Michigan, Louisville, Indiana, Syracuse, Minnesota, Illinois, and Butler could all potentially be among the best five teams in the country, but we won't know until six or seven games into the conference season.
Only Duke and Arizona have earned their rankings so far. Michigan, Louisville, and Indiana are there because they were highly ranked in the preseason, they've beaten who they were supposed to beat, and managed to generally avoid shitting the bed.

I can rank 5 teams above Michigan
Duke, Indiana, Florida, Kansas, Louisville.
Garauntee Vegas would favor each one of these teams over Michigan on a neutral court
Yes. I would rate them very high. You can honestly name 5 teams who are better right now?
Also, I did grad work at pitt so I watched the game intently, they did not almost beat Michigan. Pitt's win probability never got above 25% in the final 5 minutes.
Duke, Arizona, Louisville, Illinois, and Minnesota.
You realize Illinois lost to Purdue right?
Shhh.....don't tell the boners in this thread.
WVU is better than Kansas....oh, wait, what.....oh, 7-6.....well, KSU then, that's better than Kansas.
You realize they beat Butler, Gonzaga (at Gonzaga), and OSU, right?
A top 5 team doesn't lose to a 7-7 Purdue team
I've never seen such a bunch of idiots in my life? Are you serious? Michigan is clearly a top 5 team. Someone mentioned Florida above Michigan... The same Florida that last to Kansas State. The same Kansas State that lost to Michigan 71-57. I'm not saying everyone he is an idiot, but clearly your homer attitude has blinded you to acknowledging Michigan is a deep and talented team. Big Ten is the strongest conference and when Michigan wins 13 maybe you dumbasses will see it. Can't accept Michigan success.... Get used to it bums.
