That is simply unbelievable. I know we like to make fun of them but having had this happen in my house, it's not a lot of fun. Best of luck to those who actually did lose stuff.
I speak from experience--fire sprinkler lines can put out an amazing amount of water. A three inch line for twenty minutes....
Also, that pipe didn't just "break," and it didn't freeze. Good luck with the "not be compensated for personal items damaged or destroyed by the flood" thing.
Smells like shit, leaks water, full of assholes - who needs to go on a Carnival cruise?
Yeah, that makes absolutely no sense.
"LSA senior Adam Kleven was in a class in North Quad at the time of the evacuation and said people were making noise in the hallway before anyone in the room was aware of the flood. When the instructor went to investigate, she saw the water creeping down the hall.
“It got pretty bad at one point; the water went pretty much across the whole room,” Kleven said. “When the water started creeping into our classroom, our teacher gave me a number to call … The guy on the phone started laughing.”
All the drywall needs to be replaced. They say it's going to take a month. Good luck with that. The building cost $175 million and was built in 2010--and rebuilt in 2013.
This student was detained for questioning by UM campus police.
That's a pretty standard policy. I know MSU is the same way.

That's odd. Usually, the blood gets off at the second floor.
Merry Christmas. Shitters full!
