Urban Meyer tells 97.1 The Fan he will address the poor recruiting in the B1G directly with those coaches at the upcoming coaches meeting.
Meyer tells the fan it's concerning about the lack of B1G recruiting when there are 11 teams in the SEC up in the top 25 in recruiting.
Urban Meyer argument is if the conference is strong it helps everyone but if they are not recruiting well it hurts the conference overall.

"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
So he's going to call up Dantonio "Hey Mark, its Urban. Look, you need to step up your game. I know I keep taking all your recruits, but step it up man!"

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. - Groucho Marx
Can't wait until Dantonio recruits better only to have Urban Meyer steal said recruits.
Dantonio's face when hearing that from Meyer would be hilarious.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Maybe he thinks the rest of the conference should recruit more nationally?
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
That's wonderful, but not every school has the resources to do that. Maybe he should bitch out the university presidents and ADs rather than the coaches. They don't determine the recruiting budget.
Urban wants to be able to poach better talent. So, he asks that his poaching pool improve.
I really hope the rest of the league makes that happen for him.
What will be his excuse when he loses to "inferior" talent?
Must poach better
I mean... Is he wrong? What more could he gain? His class was #2
I'm fine with as long as Dantonio can lecture him how to properly take care of personal health issues instead of making it a cowardly scapegoat.
There's a toilet in the kitchen!
Wish he never came around our way. Fucking hate that sleeze ball.
Please tell the other coaches to recruit better, see how it turns out for you.
Hate this douche.
Meyer wants the Big Ten to recruit better because he wants it to be better and he wants it to have a better reputation. He knows it's going to be tougher to get into the 4 team playoff with the current reputation of the conference than it would be if other teams bumped recruiting, and eventually on field performance. He doesn't think he'll ever get out done by any of the conference's teams, but I bet he is worried about being passed over come playoff time by other 1 loss teams who play in perceived better conferences.
the man shouldve taken the tennessee job if he was that worried about not getting into the playoff.
: "I'm satisfied with my recruiting, as apparently are you, since you try to steal my recruits. Oh, and GO GREEN!"

Thank you, Denicos.
or it will be at a meeting where the coaches get together, not a phone call. I only gather that because it says right there he will address it in the upcoming coaches meeting.

Yep he is. But he could also schedule tougher opponents in the non-conference schedule to help him on that front instead of bitching that the rest of the conference sucks.
He's just lining up the excuses for his early exit from coaching in this conference.
"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - Mark Dantonio.
We can't have it both ways. Do you want the B1G to maintain certain academic and "ethical" standards or have a great academic reputation and be a run of the mill football conference? I don't necessarily like how Meyer recruits but the results are obvious. OSU runs an SEC style program in this regard and they were undefeated last year and will be the class of the conference once again whether you like his style or not.
OSU always played by different rules. Meyer's arrival only increased the sleaze. He's also much more arrogant and provocative about it. Tressel would cheat too, but he wouldn't rile up others with dickhead comments like this.
So he's basically saying no one else is doing their job or is as good as he is.
Making friends left and right since he arrived, I tell ya.
Tennessee radio station yesterday......How come Staudt isn't doing this ?
Who ever knew that it was so simple all along?
Well he has to lose to that inferior first which I don't think he is going to be doing much of.
Personally, I don't see a problem with is comments. I think it's true that the B1G needs to recruit better as the college football landscape is changing.
Look at teams like Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and others that are recruiting at a top 25 level. If they can do it I don't see why MSU, PSU, and Wisconsin can't.
