19 pages? For this? These tOSU fans have no lives.

Probably the first time I've ever agreed with you.
It's really how the fanbase attempts to emulate the attitude of their coach. For Michigan, they've gotten on board with the whole Ohio thing. Us Spartans, since Dantonio is a moral man and all that, think we have some higher ground to stand on. And the Buckeye retards in this thread are now acting like Urban is simply the hardest working man in American and they all abide by the same philosophy in their pathetic lives. No shit, a guy with national championships and a school like OSU to work under is going to recruit well.
This may be the single greatest collection of stupid in a thread I've seen yet. Congrats all around.
Associates first. That's all. It's a process man, a process. It takes time.
Do it with me Bro... we will be like Abed and Troy on Community

The B1G has to recruit better in football no question.
The real question is how?
I would say 3 ways.
#1 develop better youth and high school football players.
#2 invest in better coaches. The B1G basketball programs have figured this out. Also assistant coaches.
#3 more money. Bigger recruiting budget and Better facilities to lure recruits (think Oregon) to steal talent from the south and keep Midwest players playing at home.
Lets talk about on-field results. You guys knocked off Georgia last year. Why can't you recruit better? You were on quite a roll til last year. Stop speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
We win on the field with lower recruits vs. we can't get better recruits without winning on the field. Circular argument fail.
What... msu doesn't have a recruiting room
I'm a pretty smart guy
Whats funny is the ignorance of how things actually work and what matters by these guys. And Ole urby insulting every other coach in one fell swoop.
This is the entirety of Urban's comment. No one expects you guys to be top 5 in recruiting rankings. But how about top 20? And make no mistake it's not just you. Nebraska should be bringing in top 15 talent and nothing less. Iowa should be top 25 or close to it every year. Look at Penn State- they have back breaking sanctions and they have the 3rd best class in the B1G. You're telling me you can't get better talent in than Penn State while they have both hands tied behind their backs? Come on!
I am a Buckeye...proof there is a God in Heaven who loves me.
Don't get frustrated either. It's a tough climb, but it'll be worth it.
They do have something to sell, they have a great education to sell, they have new facilities (gophers), but most importantly they have something that OSU can't offer most, early playing time! That is a huge selling point! Mason was able to recruit and have minnesota competitive, take a look at his record, take a look at the players he sent to the NFL!
SMH. We are talking recruiting. You guys came in at 33, that "4-8" team was only 10 behind you at 43.
Yes that is the "right" direction to go in recruiting for a mediocre, at best, team. They took a step forward in recruiting.
And fortunately for Wilson, the Hoosiers aren't a football school, (not sure what kind of school Wisconsin is) so I'm sure he has some cushion. His recruiting efforts definitely impressed me.
End of the day = this. How in the blue buttfuck does Pedophile State University out recruit every school in the B10 aside from 2? That should not be OKAY in the minds of anyone. They just got the smack down of all smack downs by the NCAA and still recruited better. If you don't think that is a clear cut sign to step it up, idk what will.
I ADMIRE texas fans because they are calling for Mack Brown's head after this recruiting season. THAT is the way it should be.
So if Withers was such a hard worker and evaluator of talent, why didn't UNC keep him as coach? He would have been bringing in Top 15 classes with all that hard work.
Damn you guys are dense.
What don't you guys understand? There is very little 4 and 5 star talent in the Midwest, and OSU/ND/UM land most of it. That leaves the other Midwest schools (including Pitt) fighting over what's left.
With the SEC schools, The top programs can load up with 4/5 star guys, poach from other regions because of the SEC "appeal", and leave plenty of other 4 -star guys for the other schools in the bottom half of that conference, because the area is loaded with high school talent.
What is so hard to understand about this? MSU/Iowa/UW aren't going to go into Georgia and steal a top 100 player. It's not going to happen. If that's not going to happen, what can they do? Basically do what they do.....win a few head to head battles with OSU/UM/ND, then take the high 3-star guys, redshirt and develop.
Trolling you too, apparently.
Nobody said you should have a class equal to Ohio State's. We are saying you should have a class better than KENTUCKY or PENN STATE under sanctions. I would be embarrassed if I were you.
I swear, I really think we're being pranked here. These jackasses actually can't be serious with this mentality that they are now carrying the B10 banner and everyone needs to step up their game thing going on here. They had one extremely fortunate season and now they lump themselves in with Bama and LSU and such. The ignorance to think that Northern football will ever be on par w/ Southern football and to think that all schools are on an equal playing field is mind-boggling.
The SEC did it with their garbage programs. Ole Miss, Mississipi State, Vanderbilt, and even programs like Arkansas and Auburn were not very strong at times. Heck, even Florida was not very good at one time. They may be in Florida, but they have to compete with 2 other major programs. LSU struggled for a long time. South Carolina was a long time also ran. Texas A&M was also not very good in recent years.
Anyway, my ideas -
First thing, get strong, high profile coaches. This is done by paying them, and also paying the assistants more money. Second, better facilities. Third, there are obviously techniques on how to attract high caliber players from out of state. Learn them, use them.
The SEC was not that great just even a decade ago. I also would not call many teams you think have success as very good. Wisconsin is supposedly one of the best teams and they have not won a BCS bowl in over a decade. MSU hasn't even been to one. Illinois is a perfect example of a team that should be doing much better with strong in state recruits. There are a ton of things that can be done. It's such a defeatist attitude to come up with all of these excuses while the competition continues to get better.
If you want to say the SEC cheats, and put it all on that, fine. Yet they do put a ton of money in to coaching and facilites that many B10 teams simply do not. If you are fine with where the B10 is, fine. Yet many don't agree, and all the schools are tied together. A strong B10 conference is good for all teams, and a guy that is a B10 coach should want the conference to be stronger. I certainly don't have all the answers, but Urban Meyer might have a few. It would be stubborn and bull headed not to at least listen, and even worse to just put your head in the sand while making excuses as to why the B10 can't recruit better.
How does being a hard worker, great recruiter, or "evaluator" (whatever that word is) of talent make some one a head coach? Fick is an amazing recruiter, has a killer work ethic, but we saw how his head coaching tenure went. Try again please.
Simple. OSU opened up the check-book. Like the rest of the B1G needs to start doing for asst coaches.
Fortunately for you I don't place my self worth on where 17 and 18-year old kids decide to go to college. There is a lot more going on in life for me than that. I understand that you still live in your mom's basement, masturbate into that same old gym sock, and have yet to pop that cherry of yours so this really IS all you've got. And that jerking it to all those stars really is how you get through the loneliness of days filled with nothing.
So, forgive me, if I'm not the least bit embarrassed here.
Because they are Penn State and MSU, Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana and Purdue aren't.
We recruited Brennamen hard. What else was there to do within the rules, dude?
Mack Brown's program is in the shitter because his defensive coordinator isn't a Division I caliber coach and his former offensive coordinator (Harsin) was running reverse passes on 1st and goal. Had nothing to do with classes.
Really?.... lol, you've obviously never stepped foot inside of the offices of a real athletic department.
Says the guy on an Internet message board
They probably do. I don't know for a FACT. Based on rankings they must not use it much if it does exist.
See, when you are part of a university community, you don't "get embarrassed" by recruiting or even wins and losses on a field. Jesus, you don't donate to your school because of the football programs recruiting room. For third shifters who only go to the campus to drink on saturday and pretend they're connected it's hard to wrap your mind around that. However, if you'd like, he's some Izzo numbers, does this mean we now have a big dick?
hate stupid people.
Since Izzo has been coach: 17 years TOM IZZO VS THE WHOLE BIG TEN
*Conference Championships: Izzo 7 The field 10 ( A losing record but damn, not bad and I know there have been shared tiltes)
*Big Ten Tourn. Champs Izzo 3 The field 10 ( some of you are saying 12 but Michigan and OSU -cheaters- vacated two Izzo still is tied with three for the lead)
*Sweet 16's: Izzo 10 The field 22 (OSU, Wis with five Ill with 4, Purdue with 3)
Elite 8's: Izzo 7 The field 5 (Jesus, the whole fricken field)
Final 4's: Izzo 6 The field 5 (that's sick)
Championship games Izzo 2 the Field 3
Championships Izzo 1 The field 0
You have been graced in these last 17 years by the greatest program in big ten college basketball history. A program SI voted program of the decade for 2000-2010. We will never see one coach from one school dominate numbers like this again
IZZO VS the FIELD
