He is a big company line guy, no doubt about it. Rico Beard has said on The Mag board that whenever you debate with him about Michigan recruits it's like arguing with a wall. He'll praise Will Campbell and Cissoko and then the next time you come back with how bad they washed out you'll hear "Well just wait until you see Terry Richardson and Royce Jenkins-Stone". Can never win with those people.
Whenever he "reports" on Michigan dropping a commit, he is either a) full of shit or b) participating in an NCAA violation. The only way he could ever know that information to be true (especially when he's claiming the opposing side of the argument from the recruit who said themselves it was a parting of ways) is to talk to either someone on the coaching staff or someone who has talked to the coaching staff and knows directly what is going on with the recruiting board for each year and each class. Bottom line is he's either full of it or someone is talking about recruits who aren't signed yet and that is against NCAA rules. Same thing with Mike Farrell and Penn State/Jay Harris. The only way to acquire and confirm that information is to side step NCAA rules. Otherwise they're just guessing/making shit up and they are total hacks, which also could be the case.
still want to stick with that statement???
Sam Webb and 1050 are nothing but a propaganda machine for Walmarts across the state. Ben holden is doing the drive time there again. Yes, that Ben Holden from channel 10 news. Jeremy Sampson probably calls him everyday to cry about how they had to cover MSU.
Those douches were trying to say that msu was overrated, that the Coach's poll is garbage and that the Ap poll is the only thing that counts. I just laughed, really?? Polls count in basketball?? You wouldve thought they were getting a trophy in Whoretown this week.
Sam Webb is actually dumb to say Michigan dropped him.
Denzel Ward decommits: That says that Denzel Ward made a hasty decision, and is suddenly rethinking.
Denzel Ward offer is rescinded: Says that an early offer from Michigan means jackshit. Hurts the brand for other recruits (or at least ones who have the kind of people around them who ask good questions).
When you posted "they decided to part ways" , it sounded very much like a decommitment on the players' part, or on the colleges' part.......seemed mutual. Now if Webb is actually tweeting other garbage, than indeed he is an asshole and both parties don't look good.
Its UM. Are we shocked ?
I love the spin. It's the Michigan coaches who got tired of the commit....Not the kid.
Flirtations with Ohio State and Florida -- and a visit to Gainesville to see the Gators campus -- were key factors in Ward losing his spot in the Michigan class.
The Freep actually ran this story... Jesus what a bunch of catering hacks.
Tim Sullivan works for Michigan's Rivals site. Anything he "reports" will be favorable towards Michigan. How is Sullivan able to confirm that the staff "grew tired of his wandering eye"? Again, the only answer to that question is that he's getting it from the coaching staff or someone who has talked to the staff, which is an NCAA violation. If he's merely guessing based on Hoke's "policy", then the Freep just ran an article completely without merit and the editor should be fired immediately.
Maybe Ward wants to look around because Michigan took 12 offensive linemen the past two recruiting classes and any 2014 OL that commits there is an idiot.

Dantonio is just serving Meyer up some of his own medicine
Well that article was in poor taste.

There's just no merit to what Sullivan is reporting. He cites coaches without talking to coaches and doesn't provide where he got his info from. Just drops it in the article. Nicely done. He could have just as easily wrote "Michigan coaches gangbanged Kate Upton behind Crisler Arena after revoking Ward's offer". The guy cited a Twitter post in the story (didn't even call the kid for all we know) and then we're supposed to believe he did several hours of investigative journalism to find out what really happened?
Does anyone honestly think the Michigan coaches have the time two weeks before Signing Day to let any potential "insiders" The Wolverine may use know about a 2014 kid decommitting and why he did? If these "insiders" close to the program were so good about providing info and knew so much about recruiting boards/decommits/silent commits then Sean and Dan and the guys at SpartanMag wouldn't spend 30 hours per week calling or texting recruits. The truth is the "insiders" close to the staffs know only slightly more about the recruiting than the average guy who is good at finding info online.

More snake oil
Here's the best part. Valenti retweeted this:
Denzel Ward @DW75_
Just to let it be known the Michigan coaches still told me I have my offer and they're still recruiting me. It was my decision to part ways.
IMHO there's no big deal to a recruit like Ward telling the coaches he is going to look around.. It's better than doing it under the radar and closer to signing day..
Shame on Webb for trying to throw a 16 year old under the bus.
