I know yesterday will not be replicated in AA, but UM's problems were more than just fatigue and a raucous crowd. Our matchups flat out dominated them. They had no answer for Nix down low. Gary Harris got wide open looks ALL the time. We physically dominated them for rebounds and aside from Burke nobody could get anything going against their man.
I expect refs to play more of a factor, although they were fairly good yesterday. Crowd won't matter nearly as much, MSU has played on bigger stages than this. I also hope Travis Trice will be back for some much needed guard depth. We probably won't shoot as well as we did but if we keep dominating the glass, I think we have a much better outside shooting presence this year than last year, and we barely lost that game.
Pretty hard to disagree, as long as our bigs play well how do you prepare for a team like MSU? You have Nix and Payne underneath, and sharp shooters around the perimeter.
Is that and during their spring break? That would suck for them
To die in ann arbor is redundant
March 2nd (Saturday). Thats the day their break begins, so yes.
Looks like they take off for Spring Break on Mar 2nd. Wonder if the maize raige will be there?
Key in AA is going to be avoiding the hot start that they may get.. STick with the plan, pound them down low, use our outsides.. Harris might not get as many good looks, but hopefully we can get some more out of Payne or something out of Trice.. As long as we come to play, our defense is going to keep us in any game for the rest of the year.
Hopefully Russel Byrd has found his shot by then.
Exactly. Don't jack up 3s unless they're wide open. Feed the post and beat them up inside early on, it'll lead to open shots later.
Considering the ass raping we gave them, it's kinda strange that Payne and Appling (aside from a brief stretch) didn't really contribute much offensively.
I think by sweep, you mean football and basketball -- correct?
As a MSU fan, my biggest concern is the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
What a tiresome, repetitive schtick you have. Your daughter will fit in perfect at UM.

They have a real chance of losing again to somebody else too. Our primary competition for a banner is IU. Forks down.
victories against scum are great, but MSU has WAY bigger fish to fry.
IU is coming to town next week.
then MSU goes to Cbus.
then Wiscy comes to town.
then MSU puts the attention back on scum in AA.
i only care about spartans --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqsAJQc-NCY
I hope so.
It got moved to Sunday, March 3 at 4p
Oh, man, I can only hope those Maize Ragers try to replicate the Izzone. Please stay, virgins, please stay.....
Thank you, Denicos.
I am confident because I can't see anything 3line can do gameplan wise to change the game, he doesn't have the personnel. The game in AA will be closer, but barring UM shooting 70% on 40 heavily contested 3s idk what they can do.
If the team continues to play lock down defense - they will not lose again. The very good (not spectacular) offense was primarily a result of the awesome defense.
We win at Crisler but the margin will be by 10. Michigan is not that great at Crisler either..they almost lost to Ohio State and other teams gave them some problems.
It'll definitely be a much closer game. If UM gets off to a hot start, and it's a definite possibility, then all bets are off. They got almost nothing from GRIII and Hardaway; MSU played physical defense. If we get called for a couple of fouls early against Appling or Harris, the entire complexion of the game will change.
Last night was amazing, but don't forget that Michigan can be a very dangerous offensive team. If we aren't allowed to guard them, it could be a very tough game. Same thing w/ the flops; they flopped at every opportunity last night. Particularly Hardaway and Bitch McGary; hell, Hardaway flopped after getting grazed by Denzel on a soft drive to the hoop. If those are called, then our bigs will be in trouble.
Have you ever considered doing a reverse and plaguing a scUM site instead ? serious Question... I understand you put it out that you care more about riding bicycles and playing hacky sack than sports.... so why not simply do the same shit to them instead ? wouldnt this be some kind of a break / change of pace for your schtick? purely curious, thanks.
The main thing I expect them to do is try to counter our hard hedges by our big men on Burke. They didn't do much to take advantage of that, I'd expect that they may have their big guys dive harder to the basket after screening to try to catch our bigs in no mans land.
Not sure how effective that will be, though, McGary and Morgan aren't exactly athletic. But, if it gets them something going inside, maybe our hedges aren't as hard and Burke gets in to the lane a bit more, which opens other things up for them.
The other thing I would expect is that we'll get a set of officials that will call every touch defensively, and Burke will take advantage.
We do match up really, really well with them, though, and they would have to have some guys win matchups they aren't likely to win.
I dont think tickets were included in the student season package, they had to buy them separately
Once Harris found his shot, it just fueled the team. Feeling great about our bigs and our guys who can jack up 3s. Even more so about the D... We were damn aggressive.
Tough love is in effect here|We won't accept you as you are|Instead, we will show you a vision of what you could be and help you achieve it
The boys have a LONG way to go. As much as last night was sweet, State's schedule is really rough the rest of the way. We enjoy last nights win A LOT, but stay focused. Remember how close the Nebraska, and PSU games were.
Love the balance and I think in the end, this is what is going to put us over the top. Want to take advantage of this year, because Nix and probably Payne will be gone for next.
