Haters gonna hate!
I am constantly amazed how far the FB program has come since the arrival of .
I suffered through the Muddy Waters years as a student. Muddy was a true Spartan but was over his head and past his prime. I knew players that said he was a nice old grandpa but many didn't respect him.
Συν ται η επι ται! Syn tai e epi tai! Ή ταν ή επί τας! E tan i epi tas!
I was there at the same time. Football was an afterthought, and the stadium was always about half-full. Perles brought the program back, but then let his administrator aspirations make him lazy, and things slipped. Saban helped, but then it was send in the clowns. Dantonio just flat out gets it, but you also can't understate the importance of Hollis and LKS in making a real investment into excellence. This ride is going to continue.
In the 50's and 60's John Hannah was a huge reason for the success of the football team. He was supportive of athletics and got the importance of a successful athletic department in making a popular and successful University as a whole.
LAKS is the first Predident of MSU since Hannah to truly fully have that same view. The importance of that cannot be underestimated.
Oh yeah, we've got the Hollis guy too. He's pretty good.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Nice article. Everyone should read it.
Good stuff, like to see the positive pub finally.
But, we all have to keep things in check, and not fall into the trap of celebrating a September BCS championship.
Keep winning and things will take care of themselves. MSU is 2-0, but hasn't even played a BCS school yet.
I realistically do not expect them to go 12-0, and will not trash them as much as the press and our fair-weather fans will trash them if/when that first loss comes that I expect to happen.
Post-Thanksgiving championships >>> September championships

After back to back 11 win seasons this stat seems kind of silly.
"The Spartans have become particularly tough in the toughest times, 10-1 in games decided by 10 points or less the past two seasons."
It shows the mental fortitude that Dantonio has brought to the program. MSU was always the team you could count on blowing a game or two every year because they couldn't perform down the stretch. Who else puckered when TRob got that INT against PSU at the end of the game then inexplicably ran it out only to fumble it back to them at the 2 yard line? The ensuing onside kick brought back memories of numerous instance of the Spartans past of clutching defeat from the jaws of victory. Thank goodness Linthicum had been coached properly to go get the ball instead of waiting for it.

I mentioned it in another thread yesterday. I love what MSU football has ahead of them this season and what they can accomplish. Please don't laugh, do not sleep on NW. They do not have to play Ohio State or Wisconsin. They have Nebraska and Iowa at home. There is a very real possibility they will be 7-0 with Nebraska and Iowa coming in, then they have scUM and us on the road.
My favorite Dantonio quote.
TROLL! BAN HIM!
Nίκη για MSU
Being a 17+ year vet of the RCMB, this is by far the longest I've gone without calling for our HC's job!! And I love it!
Loving the direction our program is heading. Feels like it is being built on a solid foundation so that it can sustain.
Now let's hope for MD's good health and no unexpected turn of events. We've suffered way too many setbacks, some of which were self-inflicted.

Valenti on 97.1 FM throws Wojo a big dig, "It took alot out of him being an inner fan boy..." reference to Wojo writing this article
Michigan State players call Spartan Stadium "The Woodshed."It is where teams come to get beat and to get beaten up. They are highly protective of "The Woodshed."Tonight, "The Woodshed" will be lit up for its second night game of the season when No. 20 Notre Dame visits Spartan Stadium for another highly anticipated clash between the two schools. The Michigan State-Notre Dame game is always a barometer for things to come. The Spartans do not plan on losing this game. They never plan on losing in "The Woodshed."
So we've got one last chance to win a Big Ten game in "The Woodshed." Can we do it?

"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
I seriously wish we never referred to the Woodshed again. It reminds me of Bobby. I think it was first (and pretty much only) referred to that under Bobby and it just came off as a joke.
I blame the op for being a dumb ass. Fucking Slicknick
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
