so the live shot could be 1 to 1 with the play on the field? Why wouldnt you just watch the play? 100 yards, you would think that the closeups would be shitty looking

There is nothing shitty looking about the 80 yard long screen at Cowboy's stadium.
As for the rest of your post... huh?
He's saying that when zoomed out to actually utilize the whole board that there won't be much zoom. But zoomed in on a close up the aspect ratio will make the shot crap because so much will be lost in the narrowness of the screen.
So when you're zoomed out, there isn't much zoom? Well I'll be damned!
Also, 100 yards wide is not very narrow. It's quite wide actually.

I don't think they'll be using a camera angle that shows all 100 yards of the field in one shot.
Jesus Christ, you know what I mean.
Not like it's impossible to do that. Generally there is just no need for it.
This is interesting.
The UFC and boxing will be lining up to get in for their biggest shows, no doubt. I could see the UFC running a big show there every year or every other year.
WWE will almost certainly come in for a WrestleMania when it's built, and that brings a ton of money with it, too.
Then, as mentioned above, big concerts will run there, and it has a chance for bowl games, NCAA hoops and Super Bowl.
I wonder if Goodell would think of moving a team there, too.
This could be a game-changer.
(Of course, this post is the optimist view. Haha. I'm sure you could come up with a doom and gloom plan for it, too.)
