Men are supposed to match sock color (or darker) to pants rather than shoes. Would black socks work here?
(black shoes not being an option)

Where does it say you need socks?
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
I'm going to count that as a vote for black socks.
FOr you I'd say white socks Trevor. Not sure why, just seems to fit you.
No color sock is going to make that pant/shoe combo match.
The only time to wear white socks is with athletic shoes.
Yes. I'd go charcoal though.
Ps. I own those shoes. Nice choice.

I'm going to count this as a vote for black socks also...
Anything but black
I'm a fan of Gold Toe socks and unfortunately all I could find at Macy's was black. No dark gray, or that's what I would have gone for.
I always thought white socks with a nice pair of gray jorts looked hot.
Well, you seem like the type to break that rule. Just sayin.
Do you own a pair of Sambas? Those looked pretty classy in the picture.
Nope. All the black shoes I own are too shiny and dressy to wear with jeans I think. I'd rather not have to buy a new pair of less dressy black shoes if possible.
I would say some sort of grey sock would be my choice here, but you could probably pull off black socks if you really needed to. Maybe black would work if they were those those ones w/ the colored zig-zaggy lines on them or something.
You know you want to:

I like the shoes. As a chicagoan who digs square toes, those are shoes I'd buy.
You could also find a decent pair on clearance. I'm not sure how I feel about the "buckle" but these aren't bad. (not sure of your size)
I'll agree with the others who said that a light gray would probably work best sans any black shoe option. Gray to tie in with the black pants, but light enough that it doesn't look really weird when contrasted with the brown shoes. Make sure to take a picture and post it back here.

Nah, I'm more the type of wear khaki pants, tan socks, and brown shoes everyday type of guy. I own like 15 pairs of the same tan socks, makes it really easy to match them. I've been buying more denim lately though so I'm looking to expand my sock horizons.
Why. Nice gear IMO , and I pull more tail than a slow kid at a petting zoo.
Where is that rule stated about the sock/pant color?
And why would you even think to wear brown dress shoes with those pants?
Tan over black.
1) In general, men are supposed to match their sock color to their pants, women are supposed to match their sock color to their shoes. Men can also match their socks to their shirt or ties. These are generalities of course.
2) I don't want to buy a pair of black shoes and I own these.
