1. Good PG
This team has neither
Even though you are correct...this does make you a whiner and doomsdayer. But most of us know this and some refuse to admit it.
Same shit was written back in 2005. No leader, no heart, weakness at PG, blah, blah, blah
Actually...I was light years more confident in that team than this team. Always thought Alan Anderson was a leader and that team would wipe the floor with this current team.
Would you call Korie Lucious a good point guard and Leader? 2010 happened even though Kalin tore his Achilles. I'm still pissed about that year because if Kalin is healthy they probably win it all.
And I think you're full of revisionist shit.
Appling: it's going to take a championship to get over this loss
sounds like a leader to me.
Keith is giving this team anything Neitzel did in '05.
We want more, expect more, rightly so, but Drew was out there to make the first pass, and not shit himself defensively.
Wrong. The answer is adversity.
This country was built by people who worked hard then went home and had just a few too many every night. Then went back to work.
ahh yes....comparing True Freshman DN to Junior KA. If that is all KA is giviing us then this team is in a world of hurt.
The OP says:
1. Good PG
Is Keith not as good as Drew was then? Grade has shit to do with the premise.
I hope we lose early so we can all forget about this year in sports for awhile
To die in ann arbor is redundant
Much more confidence in DN hitting an open shot than KA at this point. Also more convinced he would make he correct pass when it counts.
Ummm 2005 and 2010.
Do we really think that Drew as a fresh and Korie were big time PG's. Then who were the leaders in 2010? Draymond was still pretty young, and 2005 had Anderson I guess but he was no amazing leader. Relax. If we can close out the season I think we will be fine.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
Raburn sucks almost as bad as the OP
they could be depended on to make OPEN shots....which is more than our current PG is giving us.
Your personal feelings aside, I'm sure on a very even RCMB keel after a loss to M, DN took 4 shots a game in that tourney, 4.
He averaged 3.2 assists a game. If you don't think Appling do as well as that:
1: Good PG
Not much I can say.
Can't disagree, just have to hope this team is different than the rest.
If leadership was a problem, then this team would not have come back from 10 on the road against the #4 team in the country.
You are a LIAR if you claim you watched that regular season and thought Alan Anderson was meant to be our PG or our team leader.
Anderson was clearly the team leader on that team...no one said he was the PG at all, but by far and away he was the team leader that season. By far the most vocal on that squad. Clearly he was no DayDay, Walton, Cleavess....and so on. However, he is light years the leader compared to what is on this squad.
Clearly...after they went to the Final Four. Your hindsight sure is stellar.
Alan Anderson was considered neither a leader nor a reliable point guard right up until the BTT that season. He choked away a game against a horrendous Iowa team by missing two last second free throws. That's not what a leader does, right? Three weeks later he was in St. Louis.
And yet somehow you don't take from that story that maybe you should wait and see what happens before shoveling dirt on your own team???
Wasn't Chris Hill the starting PG in 2005? If he didn't start I know he played more minutes there and was far and away the assist leader on that team.
Also, I don't think Parrot Head is saying that the good PG and Leader are necessarily the same person.
Funny how two weeks ago KA was MVP of the team, the unanimous leader, and generally considered to be undervalued compared to most high profile NCAA guards. 3 so-so games later he is the anchor holding the team back. Have some perspective.
The perspective is, KA is playing poorly right now. People can make a good argument that KA is costing MSU wins.
It is my hope that the steal by Burke is his rock-bottom, and he pulls it together from there to end March on a solid note.
