Add Wisconsin boarder to that list too. I see Illinois plates pulled over every time I drive up there.
Ah. I think she hated me by then so I didn't pay attention.
Funny; I have the exact same parameters as you. I too have noticed the "natural" drivers. I assume you posted it because, like me, these people drive you insane.
If we can trick Coach Krzyzewski into saying his own name backwards, perhaps he will be pushed back to the fifth dimension
All depends if the Valentine One is up and operating.
Anywhere between 2mph and 5mph.
pretty much exactly like you...
I like to keep it within 10% of the speed limit. So usually about 28 in a 25, 61 in a 55, and 77 in a 70.
The Doctor is in:
I generally do 5 over. Faster if I have to piss.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.
I drive fast. So fast I once hit a hooker and was out of city limits before she hit the ground.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
I like to snuggle up near another car - sort of hovering off their driver's side rear door. Once there - I just go whatever speed the other fellow is going - doesn't matter how fast or slow. I find it's easier to text while driving this way.
I drive 75-80 (usually closer to 80) on the E-way. I drive the speed limit in the city and around town.
Usually between the speed limit and five over. Unless it's a school zone, then I'm flooring it.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the speed limit on the Lodge isn't 85 for cars and 90 for motorcycles. That seems to be the average while I am driving it twice a week.
I think I drive carefully which means I'm within five MPH of the posted speed, maybe 10 on the highway if find a fast moving group that I can slide into.
I hate idiots that drive the speed limit on the freeways, especially in the number 1 lane. Usually illegal mexicans hoping to avoid the cops. Keep up with the rest of the traffic!!! That said traffic is usually about 75 to 80 on the freeways if not LA rush hour and that is what I drive. No more than 5 over on surface streets.
5 mps over (max) for speed limits 45 and under
7-8 over on highways (except in the UP where more is allowed)
9-10 over on the expressways that are 70 mph
Yep. Any black man doing the speed limit on the Lodge has a warrant.
I do 70 in a 55 on the way to work every morning.
GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY!
Unless in residential neighborhoods. Letter of the law there.
I don't get why people pay any attention to speed limits in a congested rush hour. Just keep up with the person in front of you. There is no way a cop is going to pull anyone over when they're all going the same speed. It's more dangerous to fellow motorist to be the slow poke forcing EVERYONE behind you to find a way to pass, especially when that driver is going 15-20 mph slower. I don't look at my spedo at all during my morning and evening commute.
I try to be practical. A bit of fun is ok once in a while too.
If I'm not endangering anyone (got the freeway to myself), screw the speed limit.
If I'm sharing the road with others, I'll be a good citizen.
I'm aware of the posted speed limit. The safe speed may be higher or lower depending on conditions, bystanders, kids around etc. I'll drive accordingly. I'm not pedantic about it.
Much more important than my speed -- as someone who really enjoys driving (it's not just a way of getting from A to B for me), I'm a conscious and alert driver -- I don't eat / text / do other crap while I'm driving. I know when someone's faster than me and I'll give them way. I don't sit in the left lane and try to enforce the speed limit. I don't merge 1 mile early and try to enforce the merger (basically I don't have that "enforcer" tendency that a lot of people seem to have, even though they're often wrong about the things they're enforcing). And I see and register when I have a motorcycle in my blind spot!
Uhm it's cause Okemos and EL are a police state with too many cops with nothing to do.
Edit: meant to quote msumaniac about how everyone drove slow in Okemos and el in comparison to Detroit.

To be fair, any white person going the speed limit on the lodge probably has weed or coke in the car.
You really love driving eh? Creep.
Do any of your habits include using the left-hand turn lane on surface streets as a passing lane? I was neck-and-neck with another driver on a five lane road this morning, doing close to 50 in a 45 and some self-important asswipe accelerated to 70 using the left-hand turn lane to pass us both. As if that wasn't enough, some other asshat did it about 3/4 of a mile later.
Talk about impatience. They were sitting at the next stoplight when I got there.
