Chose MSU for two reasons. 1, full ride (UM also offered a full ride as well) and 2, campus and people were much nicer and MSU was nationally ranked for my major.

Clever way of bragging
laying in the weeds
I knew I was going to MSU and I knew I was probably getting in. Wish I would have applied for out of state schools though. I still would have gone to MSU probably but it's the fact that I didn't even think it was an option really that upsets me.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
I was accepted into the anus
One application, one acceptance
Same here. The only colors.
A man's gotta eat!
and a host of MAC schools
Choose MSU because I am a legacy. Grandpa, father, 2 uncles, an aunt, and my mother went to MSU. Had 2 cousins and my sister attending MSU. There really wasn't much of a choice
4 states of being in the cannabis society ------------
Which one are you??
Both my parents at MSU grads and I grew up loving Spartan athletics and the campus. I applied to only one school. Never even thought about going anywhere else.
Wayne (full ride)
Kettering (full ride)
I chose MSU because i'm a goddamn Spartan.
Applied to two schools got accepted by two schools and went to the school that was better for my major.
It was awkward sitting in the Ferris State student section wearing my Michigan State hockey jersey (they loved that).
How do all you spartan grads feel about us non alum spartan fans. Do you view us like Walverines or are we accepted like brothers. I have been a fan my entire life, grew up 15 minutes from campus, spent many a days on campus and no one can tell me I am not a die hard spartan.
Chose MSU because Perles promised me immediate playing time......uh....I mean that being an out of stater, I wanted to go to MSU since I was in 10th grade. I grew up in a small town and MSU seemed real cool and what in my mind was what a college should be. Plus with 20,000 coeds, that is like almost 40,000 boobs to play with.
Mike valenti, is that you?
MSU, U of M, and Penn State.
Wanted in state tuition, and liked the fact that Comp. Sci. was in the school of engineering at MSU as opposed to LSA at U of M.
MSU tossed me a few bucks for an academic scholly and I was hooked.
If you are a sincere fan, I do not have an issue. Non-alum Spartan fans are about 65 levels on the food chain higher than Walmart Wolverines.
As you said, there are plenty of legit reasons to attend another college. Maybe it is for a academic program, better scholarship rewards, maybe you can play D II or D III athletics.......
So welcome aboard.
Athletics came first so MSU was the easy decision.
You are not a die hard Spartan. You're a die hard spartan fan.
Msu, scum and George Washington.
Msu seemed like a better fit emotionally than scum (close without bring too close, more of a campus feel, 'recruited' me harder - with mailings and campus tours blah blah -) And jmc was better than anything scum had.
Gwu was comparable in my major with msu, but way more expensive and didn't feel like a college experience. Of course, I then fucked up going there for law.
You're in college. The window of opportunity to drink and do drugs and take advantage of young girls is getting smaller by the day.
What was your ACT/SAT score in high school that allowed you to get a full ride to both?
You are black, correct?
Need a little emotional uplift today? No one cares that you had a full ride. Especially all the ballers on the RCMB that don't need the money anyways.
Yes, Im black and used that to my FULL advantage in college admissions. Took a hellish schedule in high school and my gPA up ticked every semester. ACT was a 24, not great but certainly not bad.
Remember, we are talking admission processes in the late 90s.
Thats cool. Not hating, just wondering if race played a part. It looks like it clearly did to get a full ride with a 24 ACT.
I would say the same thing about my admission to the Cali schools, but ha to remind myself they don't have affirmative action. If given an advantage, take it.
