I thought about crying, but the segment was done before I could blink
No, crying never occurred to me because I'm not on the rag.
OP had me expecting something completely different. For AP, it's been tough because he lost both his mom and grandma. Kid's had a tough life so far on many different levels. I met AP last year in PHX at the pep rally. Quiet, really nice kid. I think I have a pic somewhere.

I missed it. Did they talk about his small lungs?

God is Not Great!
AP has really done an amazing job with his academics and his life as a whole. It was a very nice piece that has you certain he will be a 4 year player at MSU. You have to know the Payne haters @ Purdue and elsewhere were hating it.
AP and me - kind of an awkward pic.
Ghost you look like you're carrying a few extra pounds. Need to go hike some more.
I seem to remember reading after Payne's freshman season, his grandmother died. Since he didn't have much parental guidance at the time, AP had to go back to Ohio to make all the arrangements for his grandmother's funeral. Understandably, at 19, he was very down and very overwhelmed because he had lost his main parental influence and, if that wasn't bad enough, he had to make all the decisions for the funeral.
While at the wake, someone whispered in his ear that he had to go outside the funeral home to see what was going on. When AP walked outside, he saw the team bus with Izzo and the entire team. It meant a lot to AP to have Izzo and the team there. I think that made AP realize just how much Izzo and the team was part of his family.
You just can't make up stuff like that.

If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in a kingdom of the blind.

Great, who started cutting onions in the office?
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Too much pizza and getting old
Okay, I got something in my eye. Dammit. I'm firing the cleaning lady.
Thank you, Denicos.
Don't think anything spilled out but there were some tears welling up on that one.
Good for AP.
I know, right??
