Is this going to be like when the Huskers came to Madison last year and were going to bring 20,000 fans....and then got maybe 8,000 or so in?
Your sarcasm gets worse every day.
Wow, looks like paying seat fees for season tickets was a horrible move if you can get better seats at a fraction of the cost on stub hub.
Holy shit brilliant idea.
MSU attendance has always been lousy and only a few games per year demand premiums: ND, tO$U, umaa, and any game that means a title (IU in 87)
The brand was never developed due to many reasons (Cheating in the 40's, 50's as all schools did. Probation in the late 70's. Forfeits under the Perles era. Lots of alums left MI over the years or never became engaged because of lots of years of mediocrity. The Athletic Department squabbles for years: Clarence and Joel versus everyone including coaches. George's power play to become coach and AD. Poor AD's like Merrillee and the business guy Merrit Norvell from Wisconsin. Catering to the big money donors. A pres, Dibiaggio who didn't care about sports. Poor coaching selections like Muddy, Darryl Rodgers, Bobby Williams, John L. Too far from Detroit. Competition from umaa)
Even during the years with sellouts, tO$U, umaa and ND games at Spartan Stadium almost looked like neutral field crowds. Nick's first game in EL versus Nebraska looked like an away game at halftime. Our fans for many reasons sell their tickets to opponents fans and mainly because our fans are too cheap or non-willing to buy them.
Now all games are on TV. Too many are at home. 7-8 games in EL is overkill at current prices. Lansing no longer has Oldsmobile HQ and GM doesn't support supplier entertainment like they used to. The population centers in MI are too far to conveniently commute.
Coupled with a three game losing streak and 4 losses total, our fair weather band wagoneers put their ducats up for fire sale prices. No different from Pistons fans, Lions fans, Tigers fans, even Wings fans or umaa fans when Bump was coach and when Dick Rod failed. Try selling extra pistons and wings tickets. When The Lions were really bad the story was if you left 4 tickets under an auto windshield wiper with a sign that said "free" that when you returned there would be 8 of them.
No demand, big supply means low prices.
Go Green, beat Nebraska for our first time.
Worse sight: seas of fans in red or seas of silver seats?
The stadium will be full, there shouldn't be any empty seats based on how we travel... In the BIGXII we sold out many stadiums for opposing fan bases it was unreal. Not couple that with this is our first trip to EL, people are going to come in droves.
I am willing to bet that if you look up attendance records at all the schools, those records were set when Nebraska came to town. (except possibly Texas/TT)
UW last year, there was easy 25K there... just couldn't get into the stadium.

"In the deed, the glory"
I notice a lot of tickets available in the visitors sections, Nebraska people are dumping tickets too.
Annually in the Top 25 when there are 20 stadiums with bigger capacities. I disagree.

Your confused obviously. Go look up the statistical data. MSU hasn't fallen out of the top 25 in attendance for over 20 years. Next.
Of course there is no demand, people that have season tix already don't need to buy more (some 60000 people) and the people who didn't get season tickets won't pay out the nose to see msu struggle to score 3 points.
Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.
The season ticket buyers in both end zones got hit with a 30% price increase this year. The University then started their own version of Stub Hub making more tickets available on the resale market. (both smart moves on their part) Then the Offense never showed up deflating demand further. In short it's been a bad resale market this year. Having said this I will buy my season tickets again next year. As far as resale, I will look to possibly move the better game(s) on a direct sale (no commission) basis and would never sell at a bargain rate-I'd rather let it sit empty than give it away.
Bob, I never pictured you as a guy that would get erections in the mail.
Ticket prices are officially cheaper than a Hot N Ready, but still just slightly more than a gallon of gas.
sure about that? there are two sets on Stubhub for $1 right now. If you don't count fees, cheaper than a gallon of gas. If you do, 6 tix = 6 hot n ready's. Boy this is sad.

FYI - those tickets are in the Nebraska visitors section. Guess they don't travel quite as well as advertised.
what I find funny is the people still asking for like $60/ticket on Craigslist for corner end zone seats.
There's now 2 sets up for $0.50 that weren't there 10 minutes ago. I don't understand the point of even trying to sell them at that point. If you're a broker company, is the 50 cents that big of a deal? If you're a Spartan, just give them to fellow Spartans or swallow the loss at risk of red getting them.
LOL just saw that. Will someone go down to a penny per ticket?
well, if they don't know anyone they can give them to, they might just be trying to get them used. I doubt you can sell for $0 on Stubhub. They might have them using the auto-decrease setting as well.
People on here need to get realistic as well
This is eerily similar to the ticket situation for the B1G champ. game. Nebraska fans had bought up all those tickets initially too. Looks like they must be the ones heavily SELLING (rather than buying) on Stubhub right now.

you couldnt be more wrong.
I'd travel a lot, too, if I lived in Nebraska.
