tOSU doesn't match up with us, they are a pretty bad half court team.
If we are on, we win easily.
3-1/2 dogs, no kidding?
I figure OSU has almost a 50-50 chance based on we don't do our best against half-court ball pressure (see:Craft), but 3-1/2 dogs is b.s. Time to put down some $ on MSU.
and we just beat UM by 23 and it could have been 30+ easily and lost to the #1 team in the nation by 4 with 2 players that played absolutely terrible...what's your point? when this team has all 5 players show up and just not play bad it won't lose. they don't have to play great, they just all need to play decent. the only games we've lost have been from having 1 or 2 players play absolutely terrible games and we would have won them had they played just average. there hasn't been a team that's beat us yet when all our players have showed up and made sure they just didn't flat out suck.
Tough game for him to bounce back in. Don't know if it's the shoulder or just the erosion of his confidence but his shot is completely broke.
I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war.
This sounds way too much like, " we didn't play Michigan basketball". I know Dawson and Appling didn't play well against IU, but maybe we could give the team we played that has two Wooden award candidates a little credit? Oladipo wasn't waiting for our guys to make mistakes; he was causing those mistakes.
I think OSU is basically the Thomas and Smith show on offense but there have been MUCH worse teams that have played above their level versus State this year. Given the talent and recent improvements, this team should win out going into the B1G tourney but to think they will coast to that is absurd. We probably play the hardest schedule to end the season and its going to be a dogfight.
Calmer than you are
If we lose to OSU, I won't post for a week. It's pathetic that I'll actually be really upset because of this if we don't win.
saying they are the number 1 team in the nation isn't giving them credit? Where did I not give them credit. Yes Oladipo caused some mistakes. did he cause them to miss free throws? did he cause dawson to give poor effort and get benched? Are those things we should expect from them and not out of the norm? The fact remains there isn't a team this year who's beat us when we had our guys play just decent games. While you have to give IU a lot of credit you can't honestly tell me that the way dawson played was because of home depot or anyone on their team for that matter. He just flat out didn't show up mentally, that's what will lose and has lost us games.
If Appling plays even a fair game we can beat anyone but when he goes 1-8, 4 TO's, 2 assists in 36 minutes there is little margin of error for anyone else. I think the absence of Trice may be wearing him down somewhat - I also think he is pressing a little - forcing things. The challenge for him in this game is to play a solid all around game and not let his match up with Craft become personal.
I got a feeling this team is going to come out executing with precision.
I think they'll be determined not to allow one loss to become two, which has been their theme this year.
Battle in c-Bus
The will to succeed is important, but what's more important is the will to prepare.
Yeah and so did Iowa. Minnesota is falling apart.
Shocking that you're already giving this one away to OSU. First sign of trouble and you're off the bandwagon instantly
How did he give it away to OSU already? He is pointing out that some are overconfident in this thread. I would agree that they are. On the road in the Big Ten is tough and OSU is inconsistent. Plus, and I know we have improved since then, we only beat them by three at home. If we are so much better and matchup so well, why did that game go down to the end.
I am 50/50 we win this one as these games have been close and very entertaining in recent history. Seems like both teams get up a little more than usual when they play each other.
And we all know that overconfidence on a message board, almost always leads to a letdown on the court.
I agree with this 100%. We are not going to walk into Columbus and have them just give us the f***ing W. Thomas is likely to score 30 points and somebody else will also step up. While they are not as strong as recent years, this is still a top tier BIG team on the road. We struggle with Northwestern on the road....

I agree with your main point if it were another poster I wouldn't care but he like gets off to MSU having problems. He was almost excited when Narduzzi was rumored to go to USC.
Considering we didn't play NU on the road your point is odd...
Didn't we win in Madison, Iowa City etc? If we play our game we will be fine
You are not factoring in the location of the game at all? wow. My point is MSUs B game is not better than OSU A game at OSU. They are not that bad.
Thank you. Some people don't read well.
My only point is we need to bring our A game into Columbus to win.
