That's a measure of bandwagon fans and not wins versus top programs. I am not sure Walmart sales establish national relevance.
Your full of shyt, I live in the south VA to be exact, I work in east TN, NC, and North GA and I run into tons of Michigan fans, but hardly ever see a MSU fan
National... meaning across the geographic region that is the United States of America.
Relevance... meaning something that is meaningful to most people.
It's not complicated.
You are right. It isn't complicated. Yet you are having a difficult time grasping the concept in the context of this discussion.
I don't think Oregon, LSU, and most Florida fans think they are bluebloods.
Sparty is a mascot, not a school.
But, I wouldn't expect that level of intelligent discrimination out of your fanbase.
Do you know any Florida fans?
They think fairly highly of themselves.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Interesting. Down here in Florida I run into tons of MSU fans...but hardly any UM ones. What's your point?
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
I would venture to guess you're wrong, but regardless of that, those are programs that legitimately compete for NCs most years, not once every 10-15 years.
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
Florida > VA. Therefore, MSU > UM.
Lock it up.

Sounds about right. It's not complicated after all...is it? lol
As a proud MSU graduate and die hard Spartan fan, I can tell you unequivocally that the answer to that question is, yes, it is, unfortunately. Too much animosity between the two institutions over the last hundred plus years with MSU ending up on the losing end in too many different ways and contexts. That more than anything results in so much of the classless and embarrassing behavior from our fan base. All I can do is try to apologize for these losers, and hope the rest of the world is open minded enough to realize that not all MSU graduates/fans are that way.
Jabari Parker called Tom Izzo - OUR Tom Izzo - "the dude." When asked how Izzo felt when he told him he was choosing Duke. He can piss up a rope as far as I am concerned. The Dude?
EDIT: Meant to quote TruXBluXBag
It's a type of cognitive bias called selective perception.
The same reason why you starting seeing all those "Calvin pissing" stickers when you put one on your F150.
