#16,17 and 18 all lost. #19 Michigan is idle this week. Boise and NIU are sitting at 20 and 21, and they just need to get to 16 to be in the BCS.
I've been in favor of the little guy for years, but this is the first time in awhile i don't see any of them deserving. Then again, if they match up against Louisville it's about even. If it has to be one, NIU should jump Boise.
Deserving? Screw deserving. Louisvillle, FSU, Wisky are all undeserving.
Is Oklahoma? Because they're the ones that'll get left out
I favor the little guy big time and that's why I favor a new national championship division be created in football that resides between the bcs conference and the d-1aa levels. if they were to field their own tournament, it would be a huge hit and they would be able to collect a lot more revenue than the "one-off, fell into a bcs game by default, once every 5 year" bcs bowl appearance would generate.
It's wrong that they cannot legitimately compete for a national title in a level playing environment that currently exists...but it would be even more wrong to tilt the playing field in their favor so that a seat is fabricated for them. that's why the real solution is for everything to remain as it is currently with regards to non-conference scheduling, but a non-bcs only national title tournament to be implemented.
fwiw Palm has NIU finishing at 17 not making the BCS

Louisville, Wisky, and even FSU are not among the top 10 truly best teams. That's not the same as being undeserving. If you win a conference like the B10 or ACC, you should be in one of the 5 biggest bowls. We don't need to see S. Carolina vs. LSU tyvm. I'm saying that NIU and Boise (this year) aren't good enough to warrant getting an underdog shot.
He has 16.UCLA at .2689 and 17.NIU at .2668... It is hard to predict the actual Harris and Coaches' polls... If NIU has 900 Harris votes and 500 Coaches votes... they will be in a BCS bowl.
And they should both jump Michigan.
Yeah, but they can't possibly get placed against Louisville. So what you'd get is two crappy games, with Louisville in the Sugar and No. Ill in the Orange.
And this board needs to understand that scUM is not eligible because they have 4 losses!

mich vs s carolina
Outside of the BCS.
Coaches poll out.... NIU is #16. Harris poll out later today
If NIU gets a BCS game, Roushar won't be going anywhere
@TimBrando Looks like my NEWEST FRESHEST FLY IN THE OINTMENT is in the Orange Bowl. Congratulations to the fans in DeKalb Illinois. Huskies to Miami.
Sure he will. He will take over for NIU during this month long break and make NIU's offense look like MSU's
