Who ever said money can't buy happiness was just some poor guy who was happy being broke.
Work to live, not live to work.
5 days of cruising the internet so you can spend your time/money on the weekends? Doesn't sound so bad.
Your beliefs don't seem to match. The OP should shut up and be grateful he has a job because there are starving kids in Africa, but you would never work at Subway because it is beneath you. Something seems off about that.
Beliefs don't always have to match. The world is one big contradiction. No matter what your stance on something is on something in this world there will always be someone across from you on the other side of the line. Just look at the politicians against gay marriage who have gay relatives. I can still be an entitled douche while still have a caring awareness of what's going on in the world. Abraham Lincoln said we became with equality. I look at those poor people across the world and see them as my brother but They are there and I am here.
I'm currently at work browsing boat websites. Trying to decide if I want to spend the $45k and get everything I want or settle for the $24k boat that will do most of what I want and keep the wife happy.
45k. YOLO bro
Because the world is a contradiction doesn't mean your own head should be one. You are right, many great people have had inconsistent beliefs, but it is generally seen as a flaw. Thomas Jefferson has inspired millions through his words and beliefs about freedom and equality all the while being a slave owner - and that is also seen by many as a fundamental flaw in his character.
Go with the big boat. No wife really wants to ride a little dinghy.
Yeah on SUV and overpriced coffee. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but 90% of people in this world would view our lives as quite easy (outside of the US)
Although one thing I will say is we do put a lot of hours in as a country compared to European nations.

Ah yes Thomas Jefferson who was notorious for have sex with his black slaves. Thank you for further proving my point. However you're right about my mind not being a contradiction, but not many people can live that perfect lifestyle.
life is too short to do work you hate, so make sure the work you hate is necessary to get to the work you love.
Please, please pass the information along of those people smarter than me that just need a chance? I'd love to give them a chance. I'm not old but i've been in the working world long enough to experience first hand that you are in the job you have proven you deserve, either good or bad.
Rest of your post was spot on btw.
You're half right. The people who are smart no matter what the cards they are dealt in life will find their way. However you can not tell me that there are tons of people given jobs they are not fit to do because of nepotism and who they know/blow.
I was going to respond to your post but then I realized that your last sentence makes absolutely no sense. So, thank you for further proving my point. Oh, and I'll take Subway Club on honey oat with everything but olives. Thanks.
Gross. It's gotta be Italian Herbs and cheese or flatbread. All other options are obsolete.
FLATBREAD!?!?!?! Man, I'm going to SUBway to get a SUB, not some flatbread sammich! If I want that I will go to Cosi or something. See, that must be why Ross has the inconsistencies in his head - from work. He works for a sub shop that gives you the option to have their subs in other than sub form. The whole world has gone mad. I'm like Mugatu . . . I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

have your mom go over your papers before you hand them in to your 9th grade english teacher.
Not to make this a political conversation, but the mentalities of many of our kin are no longer the main point in the work discussion. Times have changed and electronics do a lot of work for us, and the definition of a "happy life" has also changed.
If you only live once, why not live life to the fullest? Shouldn't we, as humans, be so inclined to do what we want to do in the little time we have on this planet -- a planet that is just a blurb in this vast, infinite universe we basically know nothing about?
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
That's deep Assman. +1

Unfortunately for us, you're not far ENOUGH down the food chain. Here's hoping something further up the chain makes a meal of you and saves us from your posts.
Have a nice day.... CRUNCH!

From a certain point of view, that's still the job they deserve.
