Hypothetically speaking. And I mean besides the big east, and probably the Big "12".
All this Maryland/Rutgers hate got me wondering. Consider our own resume:
Bball program: Strong, everyone loves Izzo.
Football program: Historically 7-5. We do fill a 75,000-seat stadium when we're competently run, which is more than a lot of schools can say.
TV market: Pffffft.
Recruiting bonus: Not really.
We should probably shaddup and count our blessings.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
Pro: we have one of the largest message boards
Con: our message board is full of assholes
Worth mentioning that we're a good bet to get your redneck conference into a Final Four once every four years.
Also, we're one of the few schools in America that doesn't wear red.
Yes. Detroit, while a shell of its former self, is still the #11 media market. Plus, Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo-Battle Creek is the #39 market.
So if you're in the Elks club, you shouldn't have an opinion on new Elks club members because the Moose club might not want you?
Complete dumb fuck logic. Go back three spaces and lose two turns. OP is also permanently prohibited from joining the Elks, Moose, Free Masons and Royal Order of Water Buffaloes.

Guinness makes you drop mud.
Of the FBS Conferences:
Sun Belt, Mac, wac, CUSA, MWC - Duh
Big East - Duh
ACC: I think they would take us; they would overlook the travel for olympic sports for the media markets (Indy, Chicago, Milwaukee to a lesser extent).
B12: They would love to get back to 12 to get a CCG. They already have WV - MSU would make sense.
Pac 12 - No.
SEC - No.
Football now back to mediocrity. Sad. Nice two year run though.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
I think a more interesting question is, would the B1G want MSU today?
Seeing as how the B1G expands based on media markets, I wouldn't think so -- they've already got Detroit and Chicago covered.
LOL. What about the Shriners? I dig those little cars.
Duh! Also we have FinalfourU and his 5 twitter followers....just saying
Haters gonna hate!
B12 in a heartbeat

Serious question here, who is to say that the B1G won't lose any current members? Can you see any of the "Little 10" saying "Fuck off, Delaney?"
Why would the SEC take MSU? MSU's history and and the SEC's history is essentially oil and vinegar.
I honestly wouldn't mind a move to the B12. Sick of the clowning we get every week. Sadly though, Kansas ain't stayin and Texas still thinks they are something special. Plus, without the BTN, I'm not sure how much we'd see MSU.

UM would try even harder to keep us out than they did the last time. Delaney bends over for UM & OSU so there would be no way we would get in now. UM covers the TV market and we would not add eyes in the demographers opinion. SEC actually would take us. They took Mizzou and we add just as much if not more than they do (especially academically but the SEC has proven they really don't care about that). Keep in mind everything has changed, hence Rutgers and Maryland. A portion of each of their fan base are pissing and moaning about changing conferences which I can't comprehend. These ugly step sisters just got the glass slippers and the ability to actually compete ($$$) with anyone and they just don't get it. They were in the right place at the right time.
Nobody's walking away from that chedda.
Nope. Schools like Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, et. al, know their "place" in this conference in football and will gladly keep bending over and taking it for Delany, SCum, and O$U in order to keep those big bucks coming in.
