So I met a colleague for a couple of beers after work Monday. 3 pints a piece. and some snack. I go to leave and say to the bartender I got the drinks. She gives me the tab its $24 so I give her my card and add $8 for a tip.
I go home and I am watching the National Championship game and I get an email from the bar owner. I must have mentioned where I work so she tracked me down. She said she forgot to add two beers to the tab and so she charged my card for them saying the bill came to $45.
I said ok and add $10 for the tip - she wrote back and said she couldn't do it.
I have no problem with the cash - but I started thinking what kind of owner does that?

I'd never go back, that's absurd.
It's two beers. Who retroactively charges a customer for two beers?? If the owner cares that much, she should have charged the bartender.
She was the bartender!
1. Sounds like complete bullshit
2. Is this some 5 star restaurant? Seems a bit steep.
3. No return
So she screwed up, charged you and expected a tip as well.
Never again, which bar is this so that I avoid it in the future.
A restaurant emailed you and said they forgot to charge you for 2 beers so they were changing the bill? I call bullshit.
None of the math makes sense. $24 for 4 beers and a snack. Maybe $4 a beer and a $8 snack. $8 tip makes it $32. Then she forgot 2 beers and it jumps up $13, so $6.50 a beer?
I'm not sure I'd go back. I wouldn't dispute the charges, but its the last time I would go. Especially calling, after you left, to tell you they need to charge more. I've never seen or worked anywhere that did that. Even more so for just a couple of beers.

Would absolutely never go back. The markup on alcohol at restaurants is astronomical. The fact that she "tracked you down" to charge you for two extra beers is horrendous.
OP needs to name the establishment so it can be avoided.
Id dispute the charge, just out of principle.
Depends. How big are her tits?
That is some extremely chincy s***. Would not go back on principle.
A good bar comps customers the occasional drink to get them coming in again.
Harper's shitty service reaches a new low?!

Would never go back. They didn't charge you that's their problem. Then she contacted you to "inform" you that she had taken the liberty of charging you for more than you signed for? Total BS.
And you were more than gracious about it.

Yeah, I'd go back...to punch her in the tits!
I am afraid that the whole world is closer to moral foreclosure.
That's sleazy as shit. I'd go back to upper decker their bathroom.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
This is a missing piece of very important information.
Also, what does she look like? Was she dressed nice? And really, how big were her tits?
If you were a player like Blanch, would you have had a chance?
Has anyone asked how big her tits were? How big were her tits?
ya, I would dispute it just on principle. I would love to make her produce a signed receipt showing that you authorized that amount. If she was the owner then she is really stupid and will not be in business for long.
I'd go back ...to slap her with my dick
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
This is fraud. Nice of her to call you and tell you (so you wouldn't call the police), but it's still a crime.
And you're wondering if you should go back. (A) Call the police to report the crime, and (B) don't go back. Ever.
And (C) notify your credit card company that you dispute the charge, and (D) at least consider asking your credit card company to close the account (criminals got your digits, and know your contact info on top of that).

Thank you, Denicos.
Maybe the kind of owner in debt?
This is 100% correct.
