I'm not more credible - the Michigan Assistant Coach who sat next to me on my flight is, though.
What a surprise....Michigan State message board poster tells story of Denard Robinson calling him little brother! That's about as credible as it comes.
Let me guess - Kirk Cousins showed up, took Denards keys and drove him home because he was stumbling drunk, right? And then gave a speech about it at church the next day?
What the fuck are you talking about Walter???
For the love of Trevor...™
Are you here to convince us of something? Did something - that was said here - hurt your fragile feminine feelings towards Denard?
Why don't you tell us all how you really feel.
He was cool enough to publicly call it "just football" last fall when asked about getting pounded by the D, but when he figures there's no attribution in a bar drive-by he lifts a term that was in play when he was about 14. That = Douche.
Stop wearing your Sparty uniform at the airport and people won't look at you funny.
Why yes, yes he did.
Hey, if you don't want to believe me, that's your prerogative. I didn't mention this to try and convince people of anything. All I know is that I was there and so was Denard. I could go into more detail about the evening if you want to. I could tell you what I ordered, where Denard and his friends were sitting, heck I could even tell you that Denard is a big fan of Nelly because his table was singing along with some goofy white kid trying to sing "Country Grammar" and failing epically. If you are a UM alum, chances are you've been to the Brown Jug at least once so you would be familiar with the layout well enough to know if I was making things up.
Besides what would I have to gain by making up a story? Message board fame isn't really something I strive for. I'm not exactly a poster on here known for being an attention whore.
You are a legit candidate for Poster of the Year!! This shit is awesome!!
Fuck yeah! Perfect response. You didn't back down nor did you go over the top with the rivalry stuff...absolutely perfect!!
Look man...I get it. I just think that it's too stupid and too coincidental to be true.
I'll respectfully disagree and think that you are telling a lie.
Who the fuck are you and why shouldn't we just ban you and get it over with?
I know. One in a million chance an MSU fan is in the same building in AA as a dude who can't tie his shoes. Craaaaaazy.
Someone saying something about my beloved, dreadlocked savior on a message forum? Must make an account and defend him!
Michigan has its strength and weaknesses academically. It's not like every major offered at UM is ranked in the top 10 nationally or are you going to tell me that a basket weaving degree from UM is more valuable than a basket weaving degree from MSU, because in the ned they're both still basket weaving degrees whose only purpose is to keep players eligible.
What is Denard majoring in that constitutes him receiving a better education than what he could get somewhere else? If his major is general studies the better school arguement is lost.
Beloved by millions? You pulled that figure out of your butt, so since we're just throwing out arbitrary statistics I believe that number is less than 300,000.
So comparing oneself to another makes them a little brother. Well I don't follow basketball but I do understand that UM basketball routinely campare themselves to MSU. So stop with the holier than thou, superior and righteous attitude because UM is just as guilty of envying MSU for it's basketball program as MSU had/has been for envying UM's success in football.
As my late uncle (UM medical school class of 1938) used to say during the fifties and sixties when MSU came out on the winning end of most football games, "Well at least we're better than them academically." It was the only solace he could take comfort in because he just couldn't deal with the fact that MSU was a better football program during that time span, just as many UM fans today can't deal with the reality that MSU is just as good if not better in football as UM, today.
I'm not doubting the seeing Denard at the Brown Jug one bit...the "exchanged words" and "Little Brother" thing is a bit too fishy to me.
Come on. Drob was the one who said it. The dude couldn't find the class to treat an opposing fan with respect, and you think it's apropos for the way WE act?
Not. Surprised. At. All.
Beloved by millions...my gosh, pretty soon official photos of him will have a crown of thorns instead of a winged helmud.
To coincidental to be at a bar in AA and have a UM student/athlete there? Go to a bar in EL and I bet 1 out of 4 times you will see a MSU athlete. They do leave their houses other then to go to practice. They are college kids and college kids like to have some drinks with their friends once in awhile. No one is bashing Denard for drinking at the bar. In fact no one is really bashing him at all.
Change your tampon pop a midol and watch a chick flick, I am sure it will make you feel better.
So 18 hrs ago he posts seeing Denard at this bar. Now 4 hours later he goes and tells a story. I think the poster wanted some attention and got it by making up this story.
You are blowing the "exchanged words" thing out of proportion. I used that term because I was running out of room for the number of characters allowed in the title. As I stated before, it wasn't a heated nor lengthy discussion. It was something that lasted for no more than 5 seconds as we passed each other on the way to the bathroom. If you choose to not believe me that Denard Robinson referred to me as "Little Brother" yesterday, that's up to you, but if you asked him right now, he would confirm he did.
So how about stop calling people liars when you have no proof they are. That's libel and not cool.
So you think that it is fishy a scUM player would call someone wearing MSU gear "little brother"? or that OP would have a comeback ready? or both?
Because I can totally see a scUM player using the phrase "little brother" in reference to MSU -- you know, I think there's some YouTube on that, actually.....
Don't worry -- it's not over, it'll never be over here. It's just starting.
Thank you, Denicos.
I thought you were told to go get your shine box.
I'm not stopping you, Snake....
My daughter has been accepted at both UM and MSU (Lyman Briggs), along with a few others. She is waiting to hear from one other school which is actually her top choice (Vandy). When I told a friend that if she doesn't get accepted at Vandy, she will go to MSU over UM. He was in disbelief. After a brief discussion with the guy, I realized I would never convince him that she would be just as well off and in some ways better off at Lyman Briggs. Knowing that his daughter was going to UM prevented me from pointing out that UM has lowered their admissions standards from when I was younger. My daughter is actually laughing about some of her classmates who were accepted at UM. That said, MSU does need to step it up with academics. With a kid entering college next fall I've seen the numbers, and there's room for improvement.
Its five o'clock somewhere.
This is why UM fans are so insufferable. They are brain-washed: they MUST love their players, they MUST defend them, their players are universally loved and admired, if their coach shows another team disrespect they will do exactly the same ("Ohio"), they are unimaginative ("little brothers"), and believe we care if they won more games than us by beating high school teams in the 1800s.
Really. F**k you guys. Just leave if you come here to act like douches.
