I meant the screen resolutions for the mini's competition, not stretched for apps. I do think that if you are invested in apples system (already own apps, use iTunes heavily, icloud, etc.) the mini makes sense, its just way overpriced. I've been looking for a tablet and was waiting for this to make a decision. Price alone rules this out. I do have a 4th Generation touch and have never owned an android device, so I'm not a "fan" of either.
Yeah, I was just in Vegas and saw a bunch of people walking around taking pictures/videos with an iPad.
Hmmm ... the kids want a 7" tablet for xmas. Fire/Nexus/iPad mini?????? I'm a big supporter of the Apple products, but am leaning toward the Nexus 7. For $140 cheaper (Costco has the Nexus 7 for 189), why shouldn't I?
EDIT: And is there any 7" Win8/WinRT tablets coming out?

I was at a wedding last month and some guy sat there during the ceremony and recorded video of it on his iPad. People behind him were like "WTF, I can't see because you are holding up an iPad".
People realize that just because the screen is bigger doesn't mean the photos are better, right?
Do you live in a hipster trailer park?
I've seen this and many other people using them as cameras.
In my suburban school district you see parents recording concerts with iPhones and iPads. There numbers are 40-50% of the video/picture takers.
I'm guessing for the 329 pricing point, they couldn't make the retina display work.
they're not mad, they are delighted. they get to buy another latest and greatest to lord it over everyone they know because it's a fashion accessory, which allows apple to charge a premium, which emphasizes the fashion, etc. etc.
eventually everyone else catches up and tastes change. sell that apple stock soon.
Kids won't really know the difference so get them the cheaper, crappier Nexus.
Some said sell when Apple stock hit 200 after its last split. Then at 300, 400, 500 and now 600+.
Until Google can get out from under its agreement to keep their android system open (at the behest of China for at least 5 years) Apple will be a very profitable company that has led the way with its closed system(s) that work pretty damned near seamlessly within their universe.
There is a big market out there of folks who get an iPhone and then make additional purchases of iPads and/or Macs. Apple's profit margins are very healthy and they have not only invented a market segment (iPad) but they have successfully brought it the business and education markets.
For such a right wing dude, you sure do seem to be critical of people's freedom to buy whatever the fuck they want, for as much as they're willing to spend....
Have you ever had deja deja deja deja vue?

See you at the studio
Give it 90 days and see if the Kindle Fire out sells the iPad Mini. Then we will all see if Apple screwed up.
The Wi-Fi only iPad Mini doesn't have GPS??
Just found that out.
I'll wait for the iPad mini mini, aka the iPod
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Unless you have a mobile hot spot, GPS on a wifi only device is pretty pointless.
So now that they've released the mini-pad, does that make the original one the maxi-pad?
Not true. But whatever you want to believe.
That doesn't make sense.

Name one stand alone GPS that has cellular service? Or even wifi?
